Aug 2020
It started off on mid-October
When leaves start to wither and fall
An unfamiliar shadow begins to linger

As time passes and distance becomes further
Presence way more vivid and more felt
Through a boxed screen though
I can see my countenance reflected
Deep inside those dark eyes

Our dish of conversation
Has never been so palatable
We’re rounded off well
As Yin is to Yang or milk is to coffee
Concocted to almost perfection
In way you knew, was just right

No matter how our differences are
At each end of the spectrum
It settles to intertwine through the gospel
And accepts each own interesting tale
Like listening to enchanting customs
Of a far-off land
Freely pouring our hearts content
Despite the distance of
11 996 miles apart
