beneath a midnight sky
she took his hand in hers
placed her head upon his chest
and with a whisper she and asked;
“will you love me forever..?”
her head racing
her heart hanging in limbo
she waited in silence.
gently running his hands
through her hair
he pointed her eyes towards the heavens
“just as the stars continue to shine,
and display their beauty
even long after they are gone
