Competing for your heart.
We are.
And you're the judge.
The only requirements.
It must be one of us.

He bought a rose.
I bought a card.
He bought a present.
I wrote a poem.
He took you for dinner.
I took you for a ride.

And you say, we both are tied.

He texted you.
I placed a call.
You texted him back.
You wasn't home when I called.
But called later saying, you was sorry.

I took you to the movies.
He took you to a play.
I made you laugh.
He made you smile.

And still we was neck and neck.
Until you realized he was possessed.
Then and only then.
Did you proclaim me the winner.
When in my heart I was the winner all along.
While he was competing for your heart.
I was competing for your love.
