I see their faces, crying
Though I’ll never know their names
Those images of heartbreak
Seared into my brain

They never had a chance to live
Before their innocence was taken
Casualties of conflict
Never knowing any peace

Waiting for the guns and bombs
To wipe out their families
Leaving them homeless
Living on the streets

After seeing with my own two eyes
The lives that they endure
My heart breaks every day
For all the children of war
