Small city, big dreams
Century-old churches,
Closed recreational parks,
Crummy streets,
Beat-up roads, huge malls
Unpainted houses, fresher air,
Homemade pancakes for lunch,
Cheap hamburgers and skateboarding shoes.

People come and go,
Uncherished moments,
and then Johnny said, "you can't put your arms around a memory."
