Oh, the heart
has a life of its own
and listens not
to the life of the head.
For the heart's fire of passion
can burn and melt the steel fibers of the brain.
Oh, the heart has its own reason
and who on earth
can know of its ways.
Oh, the heart and the head
how struggle is so great
between the two.
Oh, but there tow brothers
make the soul of man.
And only love
can make the soul's two halves one.
