I fought everyday to remain of worth
Seen friends grow wary and fade to after thoughts
I changed from hungry to content
Moved from barely to abundant

All while searching for what was right in front of me
Realized, when You and I became We

I use to take for granted all I was granted
Thought pain and bitter was my only flavor
I went from a slow stride to a sprint
Moved forward and never looked back since

All while overlooking the strength in me
Trained and emerging, when You and I became We

I kept bathing in the blues
washing my conscience expecting the solitude
I went from resent,to respect and virtue
Opened my heart, then made room for you

Swept by your love, the wind, sand and sea
Forever in your favor, when You and I became We.
for my lovely wife Keegan on our 3rd anniversary. 10/18/2012
