We saw the real light of happiness as children
And as adults we chased impostors
Worshiping false idols we thought we knew

But we wasted our time chasing street lamps
Fireworks, lighting bolts, fireflies
Mistakenly believing it was the radiance from our half-remembered dreams

Not realizing that the candle had been blown out years ago
