I had known him when his eyes shined like a  bulb
I had known him as he went from peak ecstasy to the depths unknown

I knew him when he was a complete child
I knew him when he would scratch his groin

When his sad lips would dry up
His trembling hands brought
A silver glass closer in a hope
When he was so clear of what he wanted
Next moment so unsure
Next moment so wild
He would run around so fast
He used to disappear
He is my hero
I know him
That's all I am saying
