Aug 2017
the time she gave her heart away,
she'd finished holding tight
she let it fly
so by and by
he'd find it in the night

the time she gave her heart away,
she knew that she did well
for when she woke
from true-love's stroke
she'd broken every spell

the time she gave her heart away,
she gave it to a man
a brilliant one
the moon's own son
star-struck, she gave her hand

and when she gave her heart away
she knew it wasn't wrong
to hold it in
would be a sin
if to him it truly belonged
