May 2012
It has been some time since I've thought of you,
this Mothers Day I'll give credit where credit is due,
want to thank you for allowing me my first breath.
I know I took a lot away from you,
your dream, freedom and your youth,
you reminded me of that in your own way.
I was seventeen when I left home,
about as long as you've been gone,
no one to give this Mothers Day card to.
I wonder if you were still around,
how you would feel the way I turned out,
would you give credit to where credit is due.
No one to give this Mothers Day card to
but I'll still give credit to where credit is due.
