My recompense for dreaming
Is the demons I wove
While attempting to divine my own future
I was obstructed by fate
Hidden amongst the living dead
Fearful of my own disguise.

The past where it lay
The present swallowing the day
The future benign my heart

Fluttering stars consume my eyes
Dismantled
Enveloped
Perceived
Now what do I have left.

The smile that knows the way
My only warmth this cold winter night
May this hope be eternal
And the nights with you go on forever
