The night is a monster
I've learned to love so dearly
Only because before then
I could never stay awake to see its beauty
Now I can rest my arms
I can rest my legs
But I can't rest my head
Because there is where it's awake the most
With thoughts swimming through my brain
I've only come to sleep during the times
When I've become numb
And it feels as though I'm all bone
Now I know to just look at the stars
I'll see my past
My future
And I'll think of the present
And I'll finally know that I can slow
Everything down
If I just go to where I belong
In the night sky
Where the stars hold my thoughts
And the moon becomes my soul
