While he wasn’t there, she cried every night; A million tears shed, still her heart wasn’t right.

While he wasn’t there, she did what she could; Hoping against hope, her decisions were good.

While he wasn’t there, she gained some in age; Things just went on, and life turned a page.

While he wasn’t there, she just tried to go on; Knowing what didn’t **** her, would only make her strong.

While he wasn’t there, a whole lot got changed; Her life became different, her world rearranged.

While he wasn’t there she had to learn to be alone; To stand on her two feet, to make her own home.

So that’s where she is now, at this stage of her life; Still scared and alone, still coping with strife.

And oh how she wish that, things could be different; That she could go back, to a time in the past..

..to time before he wasn’t there.
