Standing in a pool of water
Dying of thirst
With the limb of a fruit bearing tree above my head
Dying of hunger
I am Tantalus
My suffering
An intricate plan
Designed by none others than the gods themselves

I reach up for the fruit
And my arms aren't long enough
I drop down to quench my thirst
And the water recedes
I am tantalus
My suffering
Is seeing what I need when it's always out of reach
