The Deep Well

Old books they have aged well their luster is gone but something greater took its place the sage that
Wrote it probably understood it well length of days project silent giving rays the eyes never stray the
Heart begins to pray the outward being feels the pulse beat of a monk with tender touch he lifts this
Holy trust in his spirit he hugs it tightly words once that were aflame now imbedded on cloth like paper
Did not the eyes of many move over these lines many at various stages of life drew from this source
Wisdom knowledge are cradled when opened each side a wing longer flight than any migratory bird
Its journey over time in heights it would soar never more than when mother and father set their
Children on their lap and began to read what attunement the smallest hearing the rising and falling of
Breath overlaid by the voice so dear and in years gone a stranger left his thoughts that will forever
Enrich those that are seekers that must know wonders from tomes and places that are far reaching
“Irion sharpened Irion” the great guide by written speech the cherry tree the apple tree has it time of
Blooming the writer’s mind comes into full bloom he gives of the harvest on each page is more fruit
More delights are a fixed as talking leaves as they were spoken by the great Cherokee chief Sequoyah
It wasn’t the trail of tears that made them a great nation but their new found ability to communicate
Through the alphabet that Sequoyah created for them their words would now endure as long as the
Land Beneath their feet Books to educate to entertain to train the mind to lay deep foundation under
The conquers creed in hallowed halls of education the blessing would march eroding ignorance
Establishing a code a system that is as detrimental as steel is for building you need to look no further
Than Gutenberg’s printing press it opened the flood gates of knowledge and reason all between the
Covers of books I used this in describing a piece called lost friend referring to the pen is mightier than
The sword it says it was very gratifying the pen is effectual while the sword is menacing and final. Their
Outer covers darken with time while their inner words grow brighter their meaning and reason only
Gets stronger with time truth is never lessoned every attack only makes it stronger all places and times
Are always available it waits at your finger tips just open and start reading
