Stagehands, ready?
Curtains!
Lights!

All eyes on me.

Everyone in the crowd is judging,
waiting
watching

Everyone around me is waiting
watching
judging

I hold my breath, will words to come-
I'm judging
watching
waiting

But suddenly my time is up
Curtains close
The crowd boos

Disappointed stagehands glare
My theatre family casts their distaste

And I stand in ready position
Judging
waiting
watching
What's my cue?
