At night wondering
An unbreakable silence
Yet there are screams, shouts
No one around.
Could they be my shouts?
Not speaking
Could they be my thoughts?
Not thinking
Could I be going crazy?
Not insane
Could it be animals?
No one alive
Could it be the moon?
Not shining
Then what?
I try to listen
Try to distinguish the voice
Sounds like mine
But not mine
Its close
Yet far
I pay more attention
They voice is familiar
I listen again
The voice is of a stranger
It’s loud
It’s unclear
It’s weak
As that of someone scaring
Yet they’re scared to scare
I try to ignore it
It grows louder
Louder
Deafening
I try to understand
Hear a hidden message
It’s softer
Softer
A whisper
My heads spinning
Now what?
