First night in K Town
Nick Hernandez Jan 2015
I dreamt you came to visit my Korea Town apartment
we talked about the older days, ways couples made us **** then
you checked your phone said "Be right back!" as you got up quick to leave
I thought how much I loved you and how ****** up I still seemed
you came back fast and Entered through my then still open door
behind you stood , caucasian Ladd I shook his Hand though sore
I took his coat to put away still dampened from the rain
you called him "babe" my brains lame way of telling me shes changed
you called him "babe" I might yet say " I know her not, she's strange"
you called him babe but I Still say unwavering, unaltered
I'll love you more than anyone who walks through your apartment
I'll love you more than one ignored  whom works in your department store
no matter torn lost broke or sore
I'm here for you unfaltered

Behind a Stella induced haze
I regressed back 600 days
as I ran
my fractured fingers through your hair
I realized I'd gotten home
but While nobody was there

she sleeps where water meets the sky
her words quell my ache to die

today:
I heard 2  people say 3 words that's a first since I moved to l.a
then the sky turned from grey to a dark reddish haze
true the world can seem nice
still I dont want to stay

sleeping through the sunset
Nick Hernandez Dec 2014
Please sleep in the style of yearner tonight
so theres less of a chance for ariel shots
to rain from the sky and go through your spine
do slain ones arrive with pride from shrines?
to where ever they are when the last bit of light
hits the back of their eyes through their stiffen new guise
like them I'm alone but unlike them I'm like you
as i stair at a crack in my bed on my back
as i wait for the shots to ensue

Mal de mar (seasickness)
Nick Hernandez Dec 2014
I hope it doesn't hurt too bad
when you leave and I carve your name
in the back of my hand

like plants that grow following rain
on a warm winter week
but dies in the next freeze
to you thats what I am.

but you know that I love you my sweet heart
although you may one day not care
its you whom I'll write to whilst
homesick in night school
the good times have come but I'm not there

(with you)

so my dear if we go inside
the ghosts won't appear if we close our eyes
come down with me by the cypress trees we'll
watch the sunset through the leaves
forget what we've both done
but don't forget you once cared for me.

No matter how far
our two bodies are
may our bygone hearts yet synch
stuck on things you would wear
and the dying we share
as we stay up at night while we think

do you hate how I feel?
both alone hardly healed

No matter how far
our two bodies are
from our vacant home this may
from buds roses seep
but dried from the heat
petals fall from their life long home suite

none were plucked
none were safe
loves me not either way.

A street preacher on about God and her friends
I Kick a Cigarette that's still lit and think of your brand
the way your lips softly twist around the cork when you're ******
in that small space in your new place that you kick it with friends

*But I bet you'd rather me die here in this queue that I'm in
for a no cost flu shot than to see me again
