What am I,
If I can't be yours?
Am I simply the dust,
Unworthy of your words?

What am I,
If I can't be yours?
Am I this shadow I cast,
Just there yet nothing at all?

What am I,
If I can't be yours?
Am I alive in this home,
Or just a number on Earth?

What am I,
If I can't be yours?
Guess I haven't realized before
That the answer was there all along

What am I,
If I can't be yours?
There's a universe
I can call my own;
And it can exist without you,
just like it did before.
