Cali
days like this, gray sky
over coastal grandeur,
I sit and look out across
the rubble of a city,
the rubble of our souls;
what a ******* mess
we have made.

the gulls loop and dive,
screaming, into the
winter lake, and all
the classical music
in the world couldn't compare
to the dull sorrow
of this moment;
such a beautiful contrast
of trash and gold.

we are all, every one,
searching for something
beautiful, something
to hold that won't turn
to stone.

Madds
Did I forget to mention
How adorable you are
When you're intoxicated?

Or was the sarcasm not thick enough?

And do you forget
When "I dont wanna be dr-drunk anymore"
Dribbled from your mouth?

You stink.
Go home.

Samuel
each breath fills me to the brim like a
    pitcher of pure sunshine

   ribs
        e x p a n d i n g

if I do break, it will be
with the biggest smile on my face
Voices speak to me
Screams come from the dark of night
I awake smiling.

(Written in 10th Grade)
We are on the brink of destruction
but
we have scientific proof
that
science is
to blame

Civilization
is a constant work in progress
and boy,
did we get it
to finally look at itself in the mirror
and stare at the
dark red glaze
on
its
hands

I'm not sorry animal kingdom
you know as well as I
that competition
is a
way
of
life

I guess I'd be a sore loser too
if my bed was the
******
hollow
carcasses
of everyone I've
ever
loved

But you don't really know
what it's like
to
feel
love
and
depression

We got it down to a science

It's always packaged tightly on
any drug store shelf
you set
your eyes
on

I'm not sorry fellow man
you need to
face the error
of your
ways

You write
books about it,
create movies about it,
talk on those news shows about it

But that
fire
and
water
and all those dark clouds in the sky

aren't tuning in.
Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh.
Love of my life,
I never wanted
To be
Your wife.
Or any man's for that matter.
All the stress and the
Strife
Hangs heavy
In the air.
You could
Cut it
With a knife, perhaps.
I stand
Naked
With sinful scars to bear.
Though you hastily forgave.
Leaving parts of me untamed
Ashamed.
Grabbing a man's
Attention
Never was a problem,
But the fact that it wasn't was.
Loving you blind because
I'm blind
Without your love
Leaving
Me
Longing for a white picket fence.
Little things I love about you; the way you say "don't go".
Or when your eyes settle on me like a fresh blanket of snow.
That goofy grin I adore that swallows most of your face,
is the same pair of lips that I wish my kisses traced.
The way you hold a conversation is how you hold a bird;
steady, calm, and careful.
I cling to every word.
I was never given a title,
I stopped keeping score.
But for the record, let it show
that I was always yours.
the misspelling of "dearly" in the title is specific and intentional
