What happened to the world we know
No longer free to come and go
Facebook, what’s app , twitter each day
Happy we were to text our way
We called our loved ones or a message was sent
We didn’t know time was on rent
Now all we have is social media
An unforeseen life anaemia
When we had both that we could use
We never felt the need to choose
Yet here we are no longer in charge
Of problems small or even large
What mattered last week doesn’t now
Just stay at home and then somehow
You’ll have the chance to make amends
and see your family and your friends
And never live the life so empty
But more a life full of plenty
Life is so fleeting and so dear
Let’s learn a Lesson from all this fear
The internet It helps us all
But far from grace we had to fall
to find a text can’t kiss a cheek
Or hold a hand when it feels week

How much do you take
Before you break
What's a good time to quit
When your heart takes a hit
Should you try to withstand
The issues at hand
Do you fly in the face
Of feelings that disgrace
The love that you knew
When turned into spew
By lies and deceit
It takes quite a feat
And can you discard
The hurt that's so hard
And just  cause you do
Can you see it through
And never regret
That you'd ever met
The one that you trusted
Such love that you mustered
And let your guard down
Like you were a clown
Then without any sign
Things stop being fine
Like being awoken
To find your heart broken
With no indication
And without explanation
What you thought was forever
In fact is now never

If you had a time machine
That you could use just once
Would you travel backwards to undo what had been
Or dive into the future and trust in providence?
Or maybe you are lucky
Thats quite rare I suspect
That you wouldn't dabble in the past
As you would protect
Everything you have right now
And wouldn't change a thing
But you might glimpse the future
To check if Charles makes king?
I think I would go back to spend a day with those
Who's lives have since been snuffed out
And left so many holes
You could go one week ahead
And find lottery numbers out instead
Or go back and never make that call
That made that ball start to roll
I wonder what you would do?
And hope that you do too
You may already know
and you mightn't have a clue

Before I even touch you
I see you laying there
I want you so you just can't know
It drives me to despair
But teasing me is teasing you
And at the end is bliss
That first time that I cave in
And take your loving kiss
I stroke your skin so lightly
I want to savour you
You know I'll soon loose patience
You know that you will too
And then there'll be that moment
No longer can we wait
When we come together
Reservations dissipate
That final yearn unleashed at last
god  how that feels with you
As you are my wife my lover
And your my best friend too

I see these people smoking
Just looking cool and hip
They don't care if it's not healthy
As they pull upon its tip
But how do they blow smoke rings
I've tried but just can't do it
To try look cool I've had a go
But always I have blew it
With puckered lips I sit here
Searching for the answer
Knowing that the consequence
Is surely catching cancer

Funny how we all write poems
When were feeling sad
Never when were happy
Does it mean where mad
Do you know the words of songs
That make you feel so " happy"
Or more songs that just spring to mind
Whenever you feel ******
Sad songs can never cheer you up
But they help sum up your heart
It's good to know your not alone
When you feel torn apart
Just know that pain will pass quite soon
And then you'll listen to a tune
That makes you fall in love again
So sure you'll never feel that pain. Again.

But you will. That's the thrill. And it's brill
