The sun is setting
in the distance
It looks like a faraway land
beautifully exotic

I stare and wonder
feeling myself
being lifted,
gently
outside my bubble

I'm constrained to the small place
that I reside within
too often

I could almost cry
for myself
as I have given my mind
that much needed freedom

My soul is shining
glowing
like the setting sun

Written after walking my dogs on a very beautiful evening

Pushing Daisies
I sit and watch her bottom lip tremble,
And know that it's my fault.

The pieces that she can't assemble,
Are locked within the vault.

I sit and watch her eyes cloud over,
And have to look away,

She stills calls me her sunshine,
But I blind her with the rain.
She still calls me her sunshine,
Dispite the weathers change.

~

Cast along a dotted line

of yesterdays and practiced rhyme

These dreams before of what was told

deliveries my heart does hold

A poet’s thoughts of times gone by

in empty scenes and tear stained eyes

Where broken hearts have come to play

my words they speak of yesterday

~

Yet here I stand on corners plead

as verses plant the morning seed

These shadows lingering behind

now disappear in what I find

For beauty in my eyes I see

as love it walks the path to me

And since your love has come my way

*I’ve no more need for yesterday
