You call, You scream,
You profess, You laugh,
You run, You grasp, You fly...
And I wait.
I simply wait.
"You" I hold in reverence

The storm falls with me
My eyes are clouded
With rain my being is shrouded
Banking on Betrayal's camaraderie.

I'm living in my own delirious shell
Suffocating joy
Playing muse in my ploy
Surviving my self-established Hell.

Have I truly loved?
Do I not see the perdition I've raised?
Conundrum upon which I gazed
As wandering eyes have roved.

I had promised to stand tall
Through the gale-ridden days
An estranged promise of always
Only to break, to fall.

Across my brow, a singular stormy mark
Distantly, my lover's voice rings through
"What if the darkness is within you?"
"What if you are the dark?"

I saw the smile in your eyes,
And the sunshine love
Surged through me
Impassioned.
Rish.

If only I could find the strength
To dismember my thoughts,
If only I could shun the smell
Of the sweet forget-me-nots.

If only I could convince myself
That you were not the best
If only I could calm my mind
And get my heart to rest.

If only I could begin to stop
Wondering what you see
Wondering what you think about
When you look at me.

If only I could shred the love
That for years and years I bore
If only my war with you would end
For I can fight no more.

If only we were still in love
Said things before we dare
If only you would hold my hand
And told me you were there.

If only I could see someone
And see them as they are
And not think how closely they feel
Like you, nor how much far.

If only I could smile awhile
And make the gloom depart
If only, since I weep and weep
Could you mend my broken heart.

If only I was good enough
To leave behind the bad
If only I could tell apart
What is and what I had.

If only I were brave enough
To not believe your lie
If only I could close my eyes
And let your memory die.

The firefly does love its light
Warm summer comes after winter's sigh,
If tears and hope can unite,
Why can't thee with I?

The majestic moon scorns not its stars
Celebrated is the marriage of verse with rhyme,
If skies can unite from afar,
Why not I with thine?

As the rain leaves the sky and falls down below
As the flower allows its lover bee,
As from black rock, the rivers flow,
Why can't thou seest me?

Jaded am I to feel thy shrug
Abecedarian the still world turns,
If the mountain can remember the feeble winds tug,
Why not my name, thy heart, learns?

Do I sound too beggarly?
Forgive me, I know no note,
To pen fair words for you to notice me,
But 'tis you, sweet Love, whome I shall quote.

Foolish love hath given man plenty mirth
Yet you say, "I can't be thine."
If Heaven's high soul can mesh with low earth,
Why not yours with mine?

Your arms were there to break my fall
Your answer came before my call
Stands between us now a towering wall
Strenghthened by you, and me, and all.

Our bond was one where none could tame
The love that burnt like a morbid flame
Cold winds, and gales they went and came
Smiling we played our seamless game

The carefree talk at the dead of night
The quick brief touch, the mindless flight
You'd said before, and now you're right
The flame was just a dying light.

As I feel us nearing the end
I quietly withdraw the love I lent
I bid you a calm farewell my friend
The broken soul, as I sit to mend.

At last I have felt it
Felt the heart's prolix fit.
Welcomed happiness unbound,
Seen around his head that beautous round.

Affection tugs at my heart
I wake with a start,
Remember the promises I am to keep,
Encumbrence lulls me to sleep.
