When I remember you
I see your smile;
Twinkling like the stars in the sky.
Contagious to everyone near.

When I remember you
I think of cherry stems,
Tied between your teeth.
The knot the held us all together.

When I remember you
I see your chair.
It's still there.
Hovering and vacant.
A dark, gray cloud.

When I remember you
I picture the lights
Blue and red and white,
Taking you away from us.

When I think of you
I see you there.
In the wind chimes at grandma's
And again I hear your laugh.

Happiness is a light blue bird
Chirping outside your window
That wakes you up in the morning.

Happiness is a bright yellow sun
That sends warmth through you
on a spring morning.

Happiness is a green blade of grass
Swaying in the wind
As you're throwing a frizbee.

Happiness is the life you live
And the choices you make
That take you on your journey.

I look around and I see
The new beauty of things before me
The ground squishing beneath my feet
The blue sky stretching out before me
As I hear the wind whipping through my hair
I taste the sunshine
The brand new beginning
That comes with spring.

Her hair blowing wild
With the sun shining above
She laughs with the wind.
