Believe that a lost connection breaks your heart more than once
What I know now makes no sense
what is new?
Figuring out your home has left you behind
The life you wish you could run back to and change it all
falls from every tree dead around you as you mourn all day anyway

The world you knew is changing all the time.  No purpose but to find a purpose

when I awaken
I extend my finger
towards a panel of dancing light-

did you know that its veins were torn from a mountain?

a whole hierarchy of angels
living inside the earth
were turned to transistors

so that my letters
could glow in your hands.

when I learned this
I began sleeping beside a stream,

in the places where I could watch
wires dance-

beneath wooden pillars and their flimsy black arms
whispering secrets in permanent embrace.

every night I would dream
to the forward noise
of churning water;

of fluid drifting through the air unseen
or pouring from life long past-

terraforming
for the maintenance of symmetry.

' I found my first grey ***** hair " my husband said today
His voice was soft and full of dread - I had to look away.
We sat in silence very still - you could have heard a penny
I didn't know quite what to say so said " I don't have any "
" Today at noon I went for lunch " he quietly replied
" The hair was in my bagel "
I laughed until I cried.
I thought I would write a small amusing poem, not the angst filled ones I usually do.

let the sound of the music
drown out the check engine light
as your pulse beats to the drums
