"unselfishly" poems
Given to you unselfishly.
Given to you so kindly.
Not to be hurt.
Not to be used incorrectly.
Cherish the love someone gives you.
Adore the feelings offered you.
Admire the one loving you.
Life goes through various bumps in the road.
Except happiness holds more than we ever know.
Cherish the love that cherish you.
Adore the one that's adoring you.
Admire the one admiring you.
And you find love that truly enlighten you.

You stepped
Deep into
The waters
Of my soul
Patiently you searched
For the precious
Stone
You found it
Warmed it
Caressed it
And gave it
To me
Unselfishly
As a gift
And now
It is ours
And we call it
Love
7.5k
find a lover who writes you sonnets
who uses the darkest flecks of your eyes as ink
and the shades of your skin as paper
writing along the edges of your wrists and arms
with tongue and teeth
with purpose, truth, and love
find a lover whose heart sings to yours
a pianissimo summer sonata, dolce
using their words sotto voce against your ear
melodiously humming against your body
with their lips pressed to your neck
with passion, fire and tenderness
find a lover who creates art
using line weight in colloquy and canvas alike
to paint you with diamonds, as they see you
watch them carve your essence
with rainbows and pearls
with intensity, feeling, and beauty
find a lover who gives to you
who presents all the joys of life
unselfishly and without expectation
and when they give freely and openly
ensure that you, too, become a lover
who writes, sings, creates, and returns

Your light is beautiful,
and mine is glum.
In your eyes, I find
sensations my estranged blood
has never felt—
to touch, to love…
a soul unselfishly,
for no other reason than to love.
I want to place my frostbit hands
upon your beating chest
and ****** you away,
or might I chain your hands
and take you with me.
I could pull you into my gale,
a hostage of my lonely curiosity,
but I’m afraid—so afraid that your light
will fill the empty, gaping blackness,
and your gentle breaths
will calm my feral winds.
You alone will effortlessly transpose
the thunder of my bones,
and I will assent that only your nearness
can bring the calm to the eye of my storm.
But what follows when you
tire of breaking my weathers?
When your chains rust into reddish ash
and I can no longer keep you, my love?
I can’t imagine this place will ever be
as fair as it was with you,
and I can only foresee that
which will become of me.
For when the day does break,
and I find myself alone,
when the silence of your absent lungs
deafens my troubled mind,
my storm will surge again.
And as the black clouds surround,
I will bring my withered hands
before me and remove the foolish eyes
that once lost themselves in you.
So there are two sunken holes
inside my skull.
I will cut through my sternum
and rip my dour heart from my chest.
I will undress from my flesh
and pull the nerves you once caressed.
And my naked soul will dig a grave
and settle into the dark.

If you sit beside me
Perhaps you will see
Life is but a dream
Life is full of wonder
And beautiful
Mysterious things
My life is splendid
And lovely to my dismay
It is not without blemish
It is not perfect or in a regretful way
My life is full of golden peaks
Made of heart and soul
An abundance of love
Unselfish and whole souled
In the prime of my life
A humble man set my soul afire
He is my saving grace
My knight-and-shining armor
All these days
You have loved me tenderly
You help fill a childhood void
You love me unconditionally
You love me whole-heartedly
You love me unselfishly
You are compassionate
Sympathetic and kind
You are affectionate
And never to tire of me
I will love you
Eternally

whenever you want to unchoke and talk behind your brain
better be seated, grab your pen and take down note that related spreading nettle amber grain
question mark your self fondly to lessen your train of pain
collaborate with your tongue unselfishly, so you can have a rainbow without any rain

In my mind.
I envision being your Superman.
With the power to protect your heart.
Like him.
I wants to do it all.
In my mind.
I visualize being Green Arrow.
With my arrow and bow aimed at your heart.
Because like Cupid noticed during his time..
I selected you to have my love.
In my dreams.
I thought about Wonderman.
Which man doesn't want a Wonder Woman.
One that's amazing from head to toe.
In my heart.
I guess I could be Spiderman.
Just catching you within my web trap.
Just pulling you closer.
In my soul.
I just wants to connect to you.
The way many impressive heroes do.
It could be the police.
The fire department workers.
Or just a Good Samaritan.
Whatever style of hero you seek?
I wants you see them all within me.
Because you so unselfishly give your heart to me.

You like Coke Cola.
I like Pepsi.
You like Sprite.
I like 7up.
You like Crush.
I like Mountain Dew.
We totally the opposite.
No different than many others.
We all hear opposite attracts.
And often disagree.
Just take notes it's for a reason.
Many loves one another unselfishly.
And stay together more than those that disagree.

You are
Positively radiant,
One of the sun's beams
Parting storm clouds
And shining down on
The fields below
You expel sweetness so intense
That you could bloom flowers
In the palm of your hand
But the kindest soul you possess
Leads you to provide them only for others,
unselfishly brightening the world more and more each day
My love, you are the epitome of beauty and passion
Raging against the winds that
Threaten our hearts
But we are warriors,
with love shielding the bullets of hatred
And arrows of ignorance
That try to destroy us
Our love,
one that burns deep as fire
Scorching everything in its path
Only to create more beauty beneath
The ash
Whether we share the same air
Or watch the moon at separate moments
Our hearts still beat the same
Thriving off of tested patience
And locking arms after times of worry
And painful sorrow
My darling, you provide a safe space for my broken soul
Sheltering and nurturing it back
Until I finally feel myself again
I owe you the world, and
one day,
Even if not today,
I will give you everything I am
Our dreams flourish in a hope
I knew not of until you entered my life
One that promises endless kisses, beautiful love, furry kittens, and
Moments that feel like the end
but will never truly be so
Because while those times may trap our minds
Torturing them until we scream in confusion
I guarantee
I will never not love you
Because
you understand my past,
intensify the present,
And help create our future
In your perfect mind
And in your gorgeous ocean eyes,
Deep and infinite,
I will swim forever

I wanna be your soul at peace
tranquility, gratifying the discontent with optimism, completely
I wanna be your soul in pain
anguish, suffering the life with tribulations, relentlessly
I wanna be your soul with joy
paradise, capturing the bliss with consideration, continuously
I wanna be your soul in heat
passion, inundating the fantasy with eroticism, imminently
I wanna be your soul with hate
antidote, conquering the disgust with devotion, endlessly
I wanna be your soul at dawn
witness, observing the beauty with admiration, unselfishly
I wanna be, inside out, not the outside in
I wanna be, feelings amp, not the quiet type
I wanna be, love unleashed, not the thick-skinned men
I wanna be, simply one, not the one-half hype
I wanna be, realized dreams, not the wishful wind
I wanna be, living the words, epitomizing love so effortlessly.

I have dreams in my eyes
I have passion in my soul
I am a woman, fierce and bold
I have so much love to give
So many ways I can only wish for you to see
Untamed flames that blaze within me
But, If only you were here tonight.
To make sweet love to you endlessly
To love you unselfishly
To defend you with all that I have, be your music
to keep you smiling whenever you're sad
But, If only you were here tonight.
Holding you ever so tight
..because I'd be the light in your eyes, you my source
of strength in the darkest of nights
But I have accepted the fact, that you will never know
how deep my love for you flows, how much I am addicted
to you, how true love feels, how my body reacts when you
touch me.
If only you were here tonight.

WHEN IT SEEMS LIKE ALL IS LOST
AND YOU HAVE NOONE ELSE TO COUNT ON, READY TO GIVE IN
ALL OF A SUDDEN, SOMEONE APPEARS
AND IT CAUSES YOU TO TAKE INVENTORY OF THE CHARACTER WITHIN
FOR ALL THESE YEARS, I DREAMED OF BEING WITH A REAL PERSON
SOMEONE THAT COULD REALLY ACCEPT ME FOR ME
YOU WERE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT UNSELFISHLY AND LOVING
I HAVE ALWAYS WISHEDTHAT YOUR LOVE COULD SET ME FREE
WHILE YOU SLEEP, SOMETIMES I GAZE INTO YOUR SOUL
NOT OFTEN WILL THERE EVER BE
SOMEONE WHO CAN TRULY LOVE AND BE LOVED
ESPECIALLY SOMEONE AS DIFFICULT AS THE LIKES OF ME.
THE DEEPEST EMOTION BURIED FROM A PLACE I'VE NEVER KNOWN
SUDDENLY, I ALL BECOMES SO VERY CLEAR
I'VE BEEN RUNNING FOR SO LONG. WITHOUT AN END IN SIGHT
THAT MY SELF-DECEPTION TURNS FROM COLDNESS TO ABSOLUTE FEAR.
IMAGINING MYSELF IN A TORNADO OF BLISS,
SOMETHING I NEVER THOUGHT I'D FEEL FOR REAL
NO MORE CONFRONTATION OF AGONY OR PAIN
THIS NEW FEELING OF TRUE LOVE STAYS STRONG, FEELING SO SURREAL.
PASSING THROUGH THE TURBULENCE OF THE PAST
USED TO CONFINE ME IN A STATE OF DISTRUST
BUT, NOW ALL THE PUTRID PAST LIES BEHIND ME
ALONG WITH TRUE PASSION WITH LOVE, CONTAINED BY HEAVENLY LUST
SO HERE ALL LIES RIGHT BEYOND THE NOW
SEEKING OUT TRUTH, NO LIES, NEVER WAVERING FROM REALITY
KISSES AND TOUCH, LOVE BEYOND MY BOUNDERIES
KEEPS ME TRULY HAPPY AND WITH NEVERENDING ECSTACY.
I WRITE THESE WORDS TO MAKE YOU SEE
I''LL BE LOYAL AND TRUE TO YOU
THANKING GOD FOR EVERYTHING GOD BLESSES ME FOR
I USED TO BE LOST, BUT NOW I AM ONE OF THE CHOSEN FEW.
GOODBYE, I SAY, BUT NEVER DO I LEAVE
YOUR MERE PRESENCE PENETRATES MY SOUL
I FIND MYSELF AGAIN, USED TO NEVER RECOGNZE
FINALLY FILLING THE VOID INSIDE ME, FILLING THE IMAGINARY BLACK HOLD.
THE ONLY THING I CAN'T SEEM TO TAKE AWAY TO BRNG ME PEACE
CRIPPLED BY THE PAST, CAN NO LONGER GO ON
I TRDGE ON IN FAITH OLONE AND BY MSELF
AND THE MEMORIES OF THE PAST FIND THEIR WAY OUT AND FOREVER GONE.

To love you.
Means to let you go.
Simply release all my feelings to find another to love.
No.
You won't be forgotten.
I'll always remember you.
But it would be selfish to hold on to you.
That seems to be, what prisoners wants to do?
They need a connection to the outside world.
Or they go insane.
You've been everything I want.
And gave unselfishly to me.
But in this plight I'm in.
I'm suggesting that you leave.
This is no Dear Jane letter.
But a release to love another.
With my very best blessing.
At first.
You might fight this.
Then again you might not.
But once you think about it.
You'll realize, why I loved you enough to do this?
It because you deserve more.
Then I possible could give you.
Be happy.
Not sad.
Be thankful.
Not mad.
For you might find the best man you ever had.
Was the man that let you depart.
While holding a deep affection for you in his heart.

I owe many that affected my life.
Many, who gave unselfishly day or at night.
The teacher, the preacher and my neighbors too.
I grew up during a time.
When you knew, who was who?
I even owe my friends, who was a fool?
I owe the people I fell in love with.
Even , if they stayed or left me to myself.
We, who think we are independent?
Fail to realize the help we had along the way.

What a sad creature you are.
Stuck in your ways.
We don't know you well, but you think you know us.
What type of life have you lived that made you this way.
There are people out there that come from broken homes, tortured, and deprived of the necessities to live a healthy normal life and if they do end up escaping their very unfortunate situations they live, they love, although not exactly the same as their more fortunate peers, they live and love life.
And here you are, counting the negatives in your life,
most of which have been self-manifested,
here you are, forgetting to count your blessings; and even disguising some of your blessings with hate and sorrow.
Don't be sorry, change.
Don't be confused, think.
Think about it; what do you get out of chasing the same tail you have been chasing round in circles for all these years?
No, I am not saying you are a dog,
but what I am trying to say is: you are a human, so use the mental capacity that you have to really think about what you're doing, and what you have done; think, and change.
A penny dropped, a pebble thrown, life is full of mistakes,
but in a moment, a pondering moment, blessings they may come.
Live with love, forgive yourself, for all that you have done.
Let it go...
Let it go...
Everyday, every moment, you have been given a second chance at life, is this how you choose live it?

Ever since I was a kid in school
I messed around with all the rules
Apologized, then realized
I'm not different after all
Me and the boys thought we had is sussed
Valentino's all of us
My dad said we looked ridiculous
But, boy, we broke some hearts
In and out of jobs, running free
Waging war with society
Dumb, blank faces stared back at me
But nothing ever changed
Promises made in the heat of night
Creepin' home before it got too light
I wasted all that precious time
And blamed it on the wine
I was only joking, my dear
Looking for a way to hide my fear
What kind of fool was I?
I could never win
Never found a compromise
Collected lovers like butterflies
Illusions of that grand first prize
Are slowly wearin' thin
Susie, baby, you were good to me
Giving love unselfishly
But you took it all too seriously
I guess it had to end
I was only joking, my dear
Looking for a way to hide my fear
What kind of fool was I?
I could never win
Now you ask me if I'm sincere
That's the question that I always fear
Verse seven is never clear
But I'll tell you what you want to hear
I try to give you all you want
But giving love is not my strongest point
If that's the case, it's pointless going on
I'd rather be alone
'Cause what I'm doing must be wrong
Pouring my heart out in a song
Owning up for prosperity
For the whole **** world to see
Quietly now while I turn a page
Act one is over without costume change
The principal would like to leave the stage
The crowd don't understand..........

From a child perspective, we think you'll live forever.
You're the person of warmth with the fantastic charm.
One, who unselfishly welcome you in your arms.
The one many of us simply call mom.
From a child perspective, you that man we brag upon.
The house defender ready to act like our defendant.
One, we know go through the ditches to make sure we have.
If you can't say you love us.
In our heart , we know you care.
The feeling.
The impression is there.
As adults and reflecting back.
Many of us must confess, we take you for granted.
Long when you're gone.
And we think of you.
We realize the various things we put you through.
Even the best of the best must confess this.
We take you for granted.
Honor and respect you honestly have earned.
From the love you shown.
From providing us a home.
For sacrifices you have made.
Really,again for various things.
If we should list upon papers the positive against the negative.
We realize the pluses out weigh the minuses.
Sad when truth comes from the baddest of times.
That we take you for granted.
After seeing the things you have went out of your way to do for us.
Oh, the life of a parent.
You deserve so much more.

It was a love
That was magical
It went beyond fantasies
And lustful desires
It was a love
That was unexplainable
It went beyond feeling
And unselfishly giving
It was a love
That wasn’t ordinary
It went beyond hurting
And unequivocally abasing
It was a love
That caused pain and despair
It went beyond heartbreak
And too many tears
It was a love
That was unfathomable
It went beyond distrust
And continuous berating
It was a love
That was controlling
It went beyond danger
And persistent fear
It was a love
That was depressing
It went beyond being unpredictable
And considering surrender
It wasn’t love
It was hostility
It went beyond everything
And led to death

Id like to draw you a soul that fits mine.
The two halves of a small glass shell.
But.
You already lost your soul,
And mine has taken to spending lonely nights,
nestled in the trees
overlooking our stream.
Do you remember?
Do you remember telling me stories
about the owls
who carried the frost on their wings?
Only now do I understand,
the early spring frost wasn't caused
by these silent guardians.
Shoes muddy from soft banks
cool waves of rejection lapping at the shoreline of my soul
the frost tried to warn me,
an icy shield against you,
killing blossoms and decorating my heart
with snowflakes,
telling me softly, that eventually,
the warmth of your jacket would be gone.
The frost chilled me to the bone,
and my soul shivered,
trying to feel its frozen fingertips.
Honest hands cradled clockwork rhythms
and everything was warm.
Young and foolish I mistook this spark for love.
It wasn't you.
The warmth I experienced
on that frozen night
wasn't my love for you,
but my soul falling in love
with the early frosts of spring.
Never before had someone cared enough
to light a fire in my soul,
simply because
the brightest candles were made
to burn.
Unselfishly the cold mist caressed my being,
lighting a fire with the friction
of compassion.
You have long since faded from me life,
like a complex puzzle
left out in the sun.
You took back your jacket,
returned my books,
and left us lonely.
So I write my letters to no one
while my soul sits in our tree, staring hopefully
at the stagnant water
and wishing
for the owls to return.
Bringing with them
the unselfish frost.

Give unselfishly, without regrets.
A feeling will come over you that you won't ever forget.
Remember this.
And take the following words to heart.
For truthfully, this is where the true really did start.
For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten SON,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Yes, nothing compares to the gift he gave.
Our brings joy.
His brings attention to us to be saved.
Yes, God gave the greatest gift.
So unselfishly He gave.
So unselfishly Christ mother accepted that calling.
Yes, she had questions.
Yes, she was amazed.
Never regret giving.
It determine so much about your heart.

Woman.
Giver of life,
Four the unequaled number.
Imparting resemblance,
Qualities,
And traits.
Letting go to raise her own,
Her blood.
Teacher.
Unselfishly offering love,
Cultivating growth,
Ensuing self-confidence.
Planting the spark,
To empower us to dream,
Believe,
And hope.
Heroine.
Engulfing her responsibility.
Spreading her unparalleled capabilities,
Her unrivaled craft.
Guarding,
Yet allowing her brood to experience,
Learn,
Build a life.
Model.
Providing an outlined map,
An example.
Lessons to pass down.
Bestowing advice,
Answers to inquiries,
Keys to locks.
Humble and understanding.
All the while pride amplifying,
To be her son, life, essence.
Her endowed features shine through,
I wear them like an insignia.
Unrelenting gratitude flourishes,
With no foreseeable confinement.
Unique, coloring a world otherwise painted gray.
All along glowing.

I once heard a story
A story of a man, he
Worked under the sun’s scorching fingers
Still he lingered
Labored
And at the end of the day
By faith
Gave up his very best
Leaving the not-so-good rest
For himself.
Through his actions
He left
Something
Something for us to think about
Something for us to imitate
And recreate
And apply
To our daily lives
This man
By faith
He gave his best
And so do we.
I once heard a story
A story of a woman, she
Was blessed with beauty
Donned in a robe
Of purple and gold
Hair combed with Persian oil
Piercing dark eyes
And, knowing that she could die
Took heart
Swallowed her fears and
Saved a people
a nation
a race
By faith
She took courage
And so do we.
I once heard a story
A story of a boy, he
Had nothing to offer
Just
Five cold loaves and two little fish
That boy, unselfishly
Generously
Humbly gave
Everything he had
By faith
He gave everything
He had
And so do we.
All these people
Led by example
And left thumbprints
On our minds
On our hearts
They left
Something
Something called
The trail that you blaze
The memory you create
The footprints you leave
The mark you place
The “I was here” sort
The dent you make
The story people will tell
For generations
And generations
To come
So, wake up!
Shake off the shackles
Break those chains
Tear down the walls
That have been imprisoning you
Holding you
Keeping you
From being who you were called to be
For that is true freedom
Arise from where you are
You chosen people
You royal priesthood
You holy nation
You children belonging
To the Most High
Raise your voices like trumpets
Shout aloud
Do not hold back
For you have been set apart
Redeemed
Renewed
Reborn and
Redefined
It’s time
To be the salt
And the light
You were made to be
Not conforming
Not compromising
To the pattern
It’s time
To start being
A leader who serves
Protects
Loves
A leader by example
A leader through actions
And words
It’s time to make your mark
It’s time to throw the dart
It’s time to blaze your trail
It’s time to write your story
It’s time to quit hiding
It’s time to leave
It’s time to leave a legacy.
