Against my heart beats frightened wings
Fluttered words I can't express
My fingers laced by guitar strings
That sounds my restlessness
Blank pages torn and ripped away
With love left unprofessed
My darling, if I could convey
To your lips mine would be pressed
Though thoughts that filter unmarked scars
Come to me in idleness
I drift my heart amidst the stars
For this love I can't oppress
But soon we'll soar and taste the sky
As pinions tremble beneath our chests
In flight with you forever
Not the world nor I detest
I found this poem I wrote in 2011 for an ex. He didn't appreciate it. Maybe someone else will.
PRIMO Nov 2020
Will you ever know,
That my heart sings,
when you are in front of me.
How happy I feel,
When you stand close to me.
That my soul seeks you,
And loses itself in the essence of You.

Will you ever know,
That the smile on your face,
Enlightens my whole day.
That the light that you emanate,
Drives all my sadness away.
That no matter what you say,
Your voice makes me feel safe.

Will you ever know,
That when you are around,
Everything else fades in the background.
The long hours I have stood,
Secretly looking out for you.
The beauty of your being
And how precious you are to me.

This unprofessed love will never been consumed,
And therefore never will die.
So in the shadows, I'll stand.
Revelling in the immortal love I feel for You...

My beloved, My Hiwaga.
