Sometimes we hurt in silence

Because we think that’s all we have

It’s a secret place

That only one can hack

Where no one sees your shame

And everything seems safe

Such a silent enemy

Relentlessly awaiting in place

Things aren’t always said nor done in purpose ways

Some peculiar feelings just can’t be kept held

As tears begin to shed

Hoping someone could only understand

But silence is just there

In every step of the way

Withdrawing all positives

Pushing people away

As silence pursues at its best

But doesn’t account for the rest

When there’s people that care

And keep you standing straight

Of how they hold some faith

As you let it linger in vain

Sometimes we hurt in silence

Because we think that’s all we have

But we are our own enemy

That’s simply a way of life
Quiescence:
The world yet to be;
change is imminent.

Excrescence:
The world as holistic;
change is traumatic.

Juvenescence:
The world as wondrous;
change is fascinating.

Adolescence:
The world as oppressive;
change is institutional.

Tumescence:
The world as idealized;
change is self-discovery.

Hyalescence:
The world as conceived;
change is forgotten.

Obsolescence:
The world as impossible;
change is unimaginable.

Senescence:
The world as finite;
change is death.

Obmutescence:
The world beyond conception;
change is māyā.

Latescence:
The world as a memory;
change is time.

Putrescence:
The world as continuous;
change is nature.

Rejuvenescence:
The world in utero;
change is birth.
A contemplation of the circle of life.

Hush the silence my dear
its cruelty screams loud
your loneliness couldn't
compare to mine

Don't you worry, my dear
The pain won't last long
I won't let you suffer
this night

Memories twirl
throughout my mind
hated reflections of loss that I faced
and the warmth I once felt
In my heart and my soul
I fear it is lost to me now

Oh, the darkness consumes me
as I watch the leaf die
and the hell I've been living
ends abruptly tonight

The shadows are swirling
under the moon's watchful eye
so as the whistling winds
tell me secrets so low
I whisper my quiet goodbye…

Just as the heartbeat of war
tore my love from my arms
so the silence that follows
drives me closer to her

tears fell from their eyes
knowing both of us gone
How could they not notice
my obmutescence of late?

Did they even ever care?

Oh, the darkness consumes me
as I watch the leaf die
and the hell I've been living
ends abruptly tonight

The cold shadows are swirling
under the moon's watchful eye
so as the whistling winds
tell me secrets so low
I whisper my quiet goodbye…
Lyrics for a song a character sings in a story I'm writing, (depressed male, has mild DID)
Criticism welcome/wanted, I've never written lyrics before.
