AALI DIWALI

Excitement already there is in the atmosphere, our very air!!!

Goodies, gifts, flowers, lights we wish to, with dear ones, now share.

As citizens good, let's also exhibit some environment friendly care.

Banish Chinese items, I will, because I care for my India n also dare !

Use let us earthen Diyas, decorated in hand; Beautiful ones, beyond compare !

Candles Beautiful can be made or bought n decorated in a bright way.

Colourful Rangoli let us make with organic compounds, indigenous n rare.

Designs, with colours innumerous, one can create if one has a flair.

Same way, why pay so much to buy  torn jeans, buy let's a decent traditional pair.

Traditional dresses so colourful are and look pretty n  (no wrong meaning) gay.

Pizza, pasta, pastries boycott; try laddu, chakri or Khaja jo mawa se hei bhare.

Instead of flowers, gift Bamboo or money plants or other saplings; what say ?

Gift let us, things made in India. From China, let's willingly sway away !

"Aali Diwali"  but create let us noise n smoke less. we must on this, an emphasis lay.

Innovative one can be, using imagination vivid to cute gifts make; n less amounts pay.

No WA, try and visit Grandparents, Mama, Kaka, Aatya, Maushi, is all I have to say !!!

HAPPY WALI DIWALI.

Zev Sharma Dec 2020
Happy Birthday Palla Maushi
I wish you a great day and a happy year
Here's a little poem and drawing I made for you
Enjoy! :)

Today on this wonderful day
Your exsistance has concluded half a century
I've only known you for a small part of that freeway
But today, I wanted to celebrate you for being exemplary

One of my oldest memories is of your visit to Seattle in 2011
The DS and toys that you brought have given me an abundance of entertainment
Indeed, while the DS was a short term obsession
You are someone to whom I can share my joy and lament

Your bubbly presence brings light into the darkness
You disrupt the solemn silence and fill the room with energy
When I hear your spirited call, "Zevy Darling", I feel a surge of happiness
Neev and I eagerly wait to make the next memory

Your exuberant attitude towards life inspires me
I hope I can imbibe some of your vibrancy and qualities
Whenever circumstances are adversarial, I know I have a friend down the lane
You are like a boquet of vervain

Thank you for being so lively and cheerful
I hope this year blesses you with much joy

Sincerely, Zev
Vada-Paav, in Aamchi Mumbai, or Maharashtra entire, is definitely the most popular inexpensive dish.

But according to the circumstances that prevail here at  Bombay, been it should have Bhel-puri, I do wish.

There are Maharashtrians, Gujjus, South Indians, Sikhs, Bongs etc. and us Parsis, though very miniscule

Similarly Bhel has sev, mamra, chevda, puris, onions, potatoes, coriander, chillies, chutneys, you can add more, there is no rule

Just like the ingredients of Bhel, the population mingles, mixes, blends, whatever you can call it,  to be called Bombayites

But but but!!! wait and watch, when they board a suburban local train, just watch their many big & small fights.

To see the Bhel Puri, in this city cosmopolitan, encounter you have to the fisher folk, giving "shivya, our popular Maushi baai"

In our Bhel-Puri population, there are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jews, Parsis; but in Bombay they are lovingly addressed, Bhau n Taai.

Hope you liked my BHEL-PURI, please do taste and comment.
