We went to Rydal Hall
and saw the waterfall
ionising and refreshing the air
as we stood there

We did not stay long
deciding to move on to Chester's for lunch
We lost and then found our way
an hour later in the day

The food
was worth waiting for
very yummy
and thankfully filling my tummy

We walked along the river
again filling out lungs
with ionising
and refreshing air

On the way home
I was glad to say
that I had enjoyed myself
on this summer Solstice day

Imagine living at numero uno
on Cul De Sac off Rock Bottom
Road where there are no letter
boxes because nobody knows
you are there. AA day trippers
come an go, Yo-Yo people who
just drop in and Boomerang out
again, on life choice excursions
but never stay, just fly by nights.

Imagine being born into this and
never knowing anything different,
even from infancy, nothing but a
constancy of pain anxiety and fear
from where there is no escaping
and no Dr Bob prescription to take
or no pharmacy to dispense one or
none of this too will pass nonsense,
because you are on a one way street.

Imagine having to accept the things
you cannot change, imagine if we all
wore Dosimeter  badges similar to the
ones used to detect ionising exposure
of radiation (but for feelings) then all
our levels could be visually analysed
just like before when black diamonds
were stitched to shoulders of those who
experience death tragedy and grieving.

Imagine all of that when you pass a
ship in the night, or an en passant on
the street with a face you have never
seen before or never will again, a hand
cupped open in the hope of at least an
expression of empathy, imagine for a
brief moment that a wrong turn at the
roundabout is all it takes and you too
could be living @1.einbahnstrasse.me.
