Beauty is fleeting
Time is more precious than gold
The heart is what lasts
Sharon Stewart Oct 2011
At the laundromat today,
my stomach flipped
on demand
hearing a familiar chord
on the public radio station.
I panicked, yelled
a curse before
the lyrics even began.
Customers all
grew silent and turned
to look at me.
Which made the song overhead
only
louder.
Delirious.

I hate your ******* music,
your popularity, your effervescent
congeniality.
I hate your stupid songs about the ocean.
Lost respect for you, your
band, your
God.
Resent the fool you've made of me
behind closed doors,
rubbing your fears off
on me in the dark,
a doubting Thomas with
convictions.

I argued your qualms
at Bible study tonight.
Down to Ecclesiates and
the girls in India.
Remembered buying you a sandwich
in the bookstore
the day I met you.
You were looking through C. S. Lewis,
confounded, almost bewildered,
debilitated by questions I
hadn't ever
thought to ask that
I can't get out of
my mind now.
Like a bad song
stuck in my head that
I can't
seem to shake.

I've read 1000 upon 1000 of poems
Where I see not many write about God

I challenge you all, to write about God.

In your own words and you can scream it out loud

In the beginning

It started with Adam and Eve.
There was then Noah, follewed by Moses.

They have,
Psalm,
Proverb's,
Ecclesiates,
Songs of Solomon
Is poetry about life

Along with the rest of the old testament

Disciple's,
Apostle's,
Major and Minor Prophet's
Along with the history of God

Now to the new testament
Where we have the following

Letters to the church
Along with the gospals
Where Jesus speaks to you
And you see how he lived
With his words of silence

Now we have Revalations
What a strange place
So many creatures
That will **** the human race

Me, I'm by far not Godly
I curse and I sin
I desire flesh of women
But I try to live his ways

I know many things
About our God
I do read the bible
And sometimes out loud

Yes, I have been reborn
Still figuring it out

But I'm one of God's creatures
And that's without a doubt
If someone can help I do not know how to get it to a site were these challenges go to

I love the way you handle things that comes your way.
You show wisdom in many, many ways.
When others call you ugly.
You brush the comments away.

And you far from being a ugly duckling.

When others claim I can improve upon you.
They don't realize just , how much I love and adore you.
Besides, who business is it anyway?
You're my prize.
And not a consolation to smooth a situation.

When I'm asked to describe you.
I just say call her beautiful.
For that you are in many, many ways.

Friends opinions doesn't matter.
Kins opinions are second nature.

Ecclesiates, states that God have made everything beautiful in his time.
So, I believe I'm bless to have you to call mine.
Besides beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
And in mine, you're simply divine.
Let's ask ourselves the question, that if we're really happy, then why does it feel like somethings missing?
We desire something more, and reach the goal - maybe for a while, it'll make us whole.
But then the sting comes back and the emptiness rears its ugly head, yet again.
We're alone.
Broken.
Empty.
Telling ourselves, that if we just get to the next point, we'll be happy again, and the cycle continues.
We are like a puzzle, almost complete, but missing the most important piece,
trying to find something else to fill that gap.
But nothing fits,
And nothing completes it.
So what's missing?
‭To tell you the truth, you were made for something more.
But you can't find something more without Someone to point the way.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
