Our planets spin in revolutions only
science can explain;
like how meteorologists are magicians
when it comes to describing the rain,
or the way conductors know at which
platform, and at what time, your train will arrive,
or how doctors can look you up and down
and pin point, with accuracy, where you’re in pain,
like a miller creating silk wholemeal flour
from coarse capsules of beige and brown grain,
or like experienced pilots landing again
in LAX after 7 hours in the same seat in the same plane,
or how writers can sit down at keys
and make them dance into Steinbeck, Hemingway or the holy Mark Twain.

Last night you escaped early because the girl
you wanted to leave with left moments
before you did; and now you’ll be back
in bed checking if your horoscopes match
and if your love compatibility is worthy of a
‘I’m in love’ badge.

Tears cascade upon the Earth like meteorites
as we lie in the flower fields of India far away
I watch the sun rays play a story across your face
we whisper of past transgressions and travesties done to us
and how time moves slower here when we forget it all
we have waited so long to find this dream we pondered if it were real
we had at last found our way outside the worlds oblivious ways
gazing into each other we see our reflection lying in silence
finally falling to sweet repose as the moonlight draws us within her sweet blanket
no other warmth needed but one another

Ripped open, bleeding the stardust of the heavens.
You were the comet, bright and brillant blue, coming to stitch up my wounds.

I was saved, not with antiseptic or morphine  but the healing rush of your lips.
Electricity pulses from your tongue brought me back to life.
I found Orion’s Belt, you were my North Star.

Super novas collapsed in my lungs when I looked into your moon filled eyes.
I was the waves, under your spell I couldn’t fight the tide.

When you held my hand and said forever Haley’s Comet burst forth from my limbs and
I became a red blossomed nebula.

Yours, infinitely.

The sweat on my lip
brings this barometric memory
of heat and flesh
to the forefront.

Two fronts,
a Summer monsoon
where pale lightning plays
through reefs of golden cloud
circling an alabaster cliff
humming like live wires
with soft and hard design
with rain and sea spray.

The curve of your back
is a horizon.
The lines carved on your chest
are highways and slipstreams
above which gulls wing and wheel
below which mysteries are concealed.

And I sigh like thunder
to the softness of your storm
and I sigh like thunder,
to your silver screen embrace
I sigh like thunder.
I sigh like thunder.

Ocean - lilting azure waves
sway of moon, clouds to hide before the tide
night touching blue - the earth and sky
caressing light - the darkest sea
only a moment
only salt rain
