I love all your flaws except for your absence
You enthral my heart, soul and every sense

Any day passes without you is meaningless
My life and heart stop, I frankly confess

Don't stay away for long
You're my life's tone and song

I feel astray, I get lost
You're the one I love most

Your eyes are my compass in the vast space
I belong to your arms, they are my home, my place

When you leave, you take my breath away
My sun sets down, none but you makes my day

When you go and leave me alone
I feel I am a dark sky with no moon

Come back quickly to my desperate heart
Give it the life you take the time you depart

My eyes see none but you whether far or near
Come closer and eliminate every fear

If you think your absence doesn't matter
Look at the rain to see the tears my eyes scatter

I am a candle in the wind
dancing happily, I pretend

I am always deep under pressure
Suffering from stress with no measure

In silence I always burn
How to survive I should learn

I always live to end others' night
They think it's my duty and their right

No body cares how I feel
Or cools my wounds that never heal

No dream in my life comes true
Because of winds that always blow

I burn for others' happiness
I only get their carelessness

I don't know for how long I should burn
For those who never care or concern

I gradually vanish for their sake
they squeeze my heart and break

I really can't stand for long
To a place I never belong

I lost the love of my life as a whole
In a world with no substitute at all

She couldn't stand in the wind with me
Left me in the storm and decided to flee

She took all the sense of life away
And left me in the wind lost and astray

I am half alive and half dead
I can't bear what she just said

She left and took my heart with her
She never knew how much I care

We become strangers again
As she couldn't bear the pain

I am a candle in the wind
Only sad sighs I can send
I sought the door of hope while people slept in peace,
And now I complain to my Lord for I find no release.

I said, "O my hope in every difficulty,
To You, who I rely upon to relieve my misery.

I complain to You of matters You already know,
I have neither the patience nor the strength to bear them, although.

I have stretched out my hands in humility and need,
To You, O best of those to whom hands are stretched indeed.

So do not disappoint them, O Lord, in vain,
For the sea of Your generosity quenches all who seek its gain.

When hardships advance with their armies near,
And life, after joy, inflicts its painful spear,

Do not seek a thing from brother or friend,
Have you not seen your shadow walk with you till the end?

So raise your hands towards the sky above,
To the Lord, when you call, He never fails to love.

Why have you come from nothingness?
I have come to cause death and sadness?

Why would you like to destroy and ****?
People trade in one another and sell

Why do you appear now?
To make savage people bow

Are you happy with causing pain?
You created me, I can’t explain

Do you know people hate your nature?
People invented every pain and torture

When will you leave us alone?
When I finish my job soon

Do you come to change destiny?
I come to eliminate every tyranny

Why do you **** the innocent?
Every war has victims’ percent

What do you really need?
I want to implant peace seed

What do you think you can really do?
I already stopped all the wars flow

What else can you do to impose quietness?
I made all people equal, I imposed fairness

Aren’t you afraid of America, China or England?
I already beat all their troops on every land

What about Germany, Russia and Italy?
They are nothing, I am the absolute reality

What is your final message?
Make peace your only passage

What is your final need?
To end your ego and greed

When will you show some mercy?
When good prevails, and evil must flee
In memory for Covid-19 pandemic that swept thousands of lives all over the world.

You have become my addiction
Much better than any prediction

My day is never complete without you
You're the dream my heart aspires to draw

My day never starts without seeing your face
Your heart has become my only place

I can't resist the magic in your eyes
My love for you is an ocean that never dries

Your smile relieves all my pains
My heart is thirsty waiting for your rains

Your voice has become my favorite music
My love for you excelled any kind of logic

You have become the only dream I aspire to
My happiness has personified into you

Into your eyes I easily get lost
Your hug has become my only host

Forever is never enough to love my rose
Your love is the only thing I am afraid to lose

Come closer darling, you're my addiction
I need your hug, I need my injection
In eighteen hundred seventy-two, one day,
A girl in New York’s streets, lost, made her way.

With clothes of mud, she spoke in French, distressed,
The crowd did try, yet none her mind addressed.

Her memory was gone, she knew no name,
A soul adrift in grief and silent shame.

A charity, French-born, helped her regain,
Her health, her past, and eased her heavy pain.

The daughter of a man of great renown,
Victor Hugo, whose fame had spread through town.

Her tale would break her father’s heart in two,
As she, for fifteen years, in exile grew.

Beside him on an isle so far from home,
They shared their days beneath the British dome.

But love misled her fragile heart’s pure core,
For Alfred, whom she followed shore to shore.

A British soldier, cruel, with heart untrue,
She crossed the seas for him, but sorrow grew.

In Nova Scotia’s lands, she chased his flight,
He drained her wealth, then vanished from her sight.

With no one left, no friend nor coin to hold,
She wandered, broke, in New York’s streets, so cold.

Returned to France, her spirit crushed and low,
Her silent vow from lips no word would flow.

For forty years, from heartache never free,
She spoke no more—no sound, no voice, no plea.

Her father tried to mend her shattered will,
But silence ruled her days, her nights grew still.

Her record stands, the longest silent vow,
In human lore, no voice will break it now.

Beware, O man, the hearts that break in pain,
For shattered souls may never speak again.
In Africa, when life begins anew,
It's scored a goal, you're down one-two.

Without good schooling, here's goal number two,
If parents poor, then four-nil looms for you.

On this harsh field, there's but one game to play,
To strive for equal ground each passing day.

Welcome to Africa, where struggle's rife,
And daily battles mark the course of life.

In December's chill, in '45's embrace,
Born Abdallah, with a humble grace.

Ezbet Seedy Ragab, his village small,
El Monofia's heart, he answered the call.

Four brothers, two sisters, poverty's hand,
In grade six, he left school, had to work the land.

A farmer by dawn, self-taught by night,
His Arabic script, a beautiful sight.

At twenty, he chose a soldier's life,
In '65, he joined the strife.

Through wars he fought, from youth to old,
An officer's tale, a heart so bold.

In '70, wed my mother dear,
Seven children blessed their years.

He sacrificed, so we might gain,
The education, his dream's refrain.

Justice, patience, punctuality instilled,
Good behavior, his lessons fulfilled.

He wanted naught, but for us to soar,
To achieve his dreams, to be something more.

Kidney failure claimed him in '21,
A hero's journey, now was done.

Yet in my heart, he lives each day,
His memory, in every way.

Rest in peace, dear father, in heaven's light,
Until we meet again, in paradise bright.

All ways lead to you in the end
We can beat separation wind

Even if life keeps us far away
We will get together some day

Our destiny is connected forever
Life is cruel unless we are together

Wherever you go in this universe
You're in every poem and each verse

Although you are not in front of my eyes
My love to you is an ocean that never dries

You are always there in everything I see
Without you in this world, I would never be

Your lovely picture is carved on the moon face
Making the world a much more beautiful place

While wandering around the earth
Your smile is my compass since birth

I am not afraid to wander about or get lost
As long as your heart is my tender host

One day I am coming back to your arms
My salvation from all hardships and harms

A lover is needed for an everlasting love relation
A true lover that meets my expectation

A lover with true emotional qualification
A lover to accompany my heart in its destination

A lover never knows how to betray
A word of separation they never say

A lover that always be there in time of need
A lover that always waters the love seed

A lover that always stays near and shows care
A true lover that  always shows love anytime and anywhere

A true lover should be a permanent and eternal friend
Whether near or far only true feelings they send

A lover that should know how I feel before speaking
A lover that  never believes in heart breaking

A lover that must dive deep into the bottom of my heart
A lover that never says bye or knows how to depart

In hard times they never change or leave
But in me,  they always believe

They should always show me love and respect
And give me true heart feelings more than I expect

They should always be around all the time
And never leave me even for some time

They should have patience to stand unbearable man
And show love and endurance as possible as they can

Whoever finds in themselves these qualifications
They have just won my eternal love and great expectations

My deep condolences to a noble knight
Whose soul ascended heaven at night

Rivers of tears are not enough to shed
For a gentle heart and a face of a kid

You were always a kind-hearted man
Everyone knows you becomes your fan

You always left good memories with everyone
You left life without a setting sun

Your thoughts exist everywhere
Nobody will forget your care

You planted love in every heart you met
That's why your sun will never set

Nobody is going to forget your smiling face
Your memory decorates every place

Everyone prays for you day and night
You took with your every joy and light

Although you are no longer in front of our eyes
You are now the celebration of all the skies

Everyone laments the gentle heart
Who suddenly decided to depart

Angels really belong to the sky
Whose memories will never dry

Rest in peace our gentle knight
You are always there before our sight
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Let me drown into your sea of feeling
Give me a new identity, a new being

Love me forever my dear
No longer see but you, I swear

Let me escape to your arms
Hide me of the wild world harms

Don't ever forget me, please
Or all my heartbeats will cease

I promise to love you much more
Just give me the chance to prove how I adore

I hate the smell of being away from you
Terrible feelings inside me to flow

Don't ever leave me alone
The sky can't be deserted by its moon

I always dream of being close to your sigh
As this happens I have wings to fly

Oh, my dear feel my suffer
Which easily disappear when being together

A touch of your hand makes me a live again
Come closer, my love relieves my pain

In my heart I have your love and forever will exist
In a faithful mind and a sincere chest

Away from you, the rose will wither
Only for missing a loyal lover

When I feel you by my side
I forget my ego and pride

Together forever we will remain
To set an example of love that no words can explain

A heart which is full of captive emotions aspire to release
I only exist to cheer you up and please

I fell in love the very moment I saw you
You taught my hear how to blow

Don't leave me lonely so desperate
After the wonderful world you create

Every moment together in my heart I keep
That's the only harvest in my life to reap

Whenever you pass by my sight
My eyes keep holding you so tight

Stay in my life forever
Let's grow old together
Walid Abdallah Apr 2021
The Nile has been running here for millions of years
Carrying all the good and removing our fears

I built the first great civilization on earth
I eliminated the world thirst and dearth

I was born a soldier defending my land
Sacrificing my life for a grain of its sand

Anubis and Horus are forever ready
Protecting Egypt and always steady

I am a pharaoh and here is my fate
Teaching the world how to love not to hate

The Nile is my blood that flows in my veins
Look into my face to see Egypt's mounts and plains

The map of Egypt is carved into the wall of my heart
I taught the world the first writing, music and art

I am the sleepless eye that protects Egypt from any harms
Who dares to get closer and Egypt is between my arms

I command every Egyptian to stand upright
To defend our beloved by day and night

Pharaohs become lions in battlefield
Right and faith are always our shield

The Nile is life artery in time of thirst
That's why we always put it first

Egypt always seeks for peace and justice
Always make them her regular practice

Egypt never seeks for war or conflict
Egypt is the land of love you all expect

If war is imposed on Egypt and its land
Anubis is carrying his spear in each hand

Horus is above fluttering his wings
Celebrating the victory he always brings

Egypt can protect herself against devils of hell
Ask the Hyksos, Tatars and all those who once fell

Ahmose, Mina and Hatchepsout are always there
Sending to the world all the love, peace and care

Peace has always been our first call
That's why Egypt will never fall
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
Ask me whatever you want, my dear

My heart will answer truly I swear

Ask me why God created the earth

Only to receive your happy birth

Ask me why God created the sun

Only to help you spread warmth, light and fun

Ask me why God created the moon in the sky its place

Only to lighten the universe sharing your face

Ask my Why God created the stars so bright

Only to be like your teeth when it is night

Ask me why God created me

Only to fall in your love as forever will be

Ask me why I love you

Only for the life into my veins you flow
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
As you want, be mad
Hurt my feelings, you once had

Break the vases and mirror together
Threaten to love another

It is nothing, whatever you say
Whatever you do, no attention I pay

You are like kids, my lover
Even if you hurt me, I will love you forever

On being mad, how wonderful you are!
Without waves or sky, there wouldn't be sea or star

Stormy or angry, forever will be
My heart is the forgiveness you see

Be mad, will never answer you with defy
Never answer despite your shouts and cry

You are just a kid full of vanity
And birds never punish their kids but always show pity

If I am boring, just desert me
And accuse me, fate and destiny

Too many tears and too much grief by my side
Keeping silence is pride, grief is pride

If you are too tired to stay
Life is full of black and green eyed girls to play

When you need to see me
When you miss my affection to see

Come back to my heart, just try
In my life, you are the air, the land and sky

Be mad whenever you desire
Then go and let me taste fire

But one day you must come back and know
Loyalty is me and God created me for you
A translated poem from Arabic by me, written by Nezar Qabany.
Walid Abdallah Apr 2021
Beyond the far cloud in the vast sky
I built you  a palace of stars so high

Where your eyes lighten the universe
And spread love hearts can't express

Let's live a legendary love with no end
Help me fix a broken heart and mend

A heart waiting for you before life
Tasting every pain and endless strife

Looking into your eyes pushes life into my vein
Like a desert  that first tastes drops of rain

Your hair is like waves of a very calm sea
Into my soul your love  is a deep rooted tree

I will always water our love tree with my soul
Each leaf carrying our names and will never fall

Beyond the far cloud I have been waiting
For two souls that will always be mating

You shone like a bright sun ending my night
You will be always there in front of my sight

Away from you I no longer exist
Between your arms I find my rest

With you life smiles, stars dance and sing
I owe you the happiness you always bring

Beyond the far cloud I offer you my heart
It is just the beginning, it is a simple start

Will you accept the present my dear
And end my pain, suffering and fear?

Waiting for you beyond the far cloud
My heart is calling your name aloud

Don't be late, don't let my heart down
Into your sea, I am always ready to drown
Walid Abdallah Jun 2020
I have always been called black
Before my eyes and behind my back

I always try to hide my sufferings and tears
I have to stand more than anyone bears

I didn’t create  myself nor my color
That becomes my weakness and their power

I may be black from the outside
But I have the whitest heart inside

My color has become the curse of my own race
On earth, we no longer have a place

I am cursed in every place I go
I always feel so little and low

I was born only to suffer
My feeling does not matter

For any crime, I am the first to blame
The Nigro did it and call my name

My soul is imprisoned within the dark skin
My own color has become my own sin

I hope people will see the beauty in my heart
And stop excluding me and asking me to depart

My heart breaks a thousand times every day
No body cares about me, no attention they pay

I am a caged bird left lonely in a rainy night
With broken wings, with no power to fight

Outcast and cursed that is how I feel
In front of their vanity I must kneel

I hope they will understand we complete each other
We were created to reconstruct the earth together

We have the same soul but different colors
We have charming scent from various flowers

I dream of a world in which we are all the same
And only a human being becomes our name

We should teach our children the power of tolerance
And root out every envy, hatred and intolerance

I love and respect everyone on this earth
I have been taught this since my birth
In memory of George Flyod who was brutally killed by a white police officer in cold blood in the USA.
Walid Abdallah Aug 2023
On seeing you, I  breathed through my heart
Please, stay there forever and never depart

You have no eye lids, they are two lips
Where a flood of tenderness drips

Take me into the deep well of your embrace
Where I see nothing except for your face

Let me closer to breathe your sighs
Believe in my heart, it never lies

In your presence, I see none but you
I taste that happiness I never knew

You're my God's most precious gift
For you, anything can be easily left

I only feel alive in the shrine of your eyes
My heart dances, sings and always flies

Never be away even for just a few minutes
Being together my feelings have no limits

Your smile always makes me on cloud nine
Our eternal love contract is ready to sign

For the heart that breathes you, never be late
Let's make our happiness and draw our fate
I love you and full of belief
You are always my relief

I always long for your tenderness
You are always my sole happiness

I never forget a word you once said
I keep it deep in my heart and head

Since you left, my sun was taken
I heard my backbone broken

Was I truly your soulmate
Was I sincerely your fate?

You just left with no excuse
Grief has surely won, I lose

Are you happy now after departure
Are you happy to see me in torture?

When you left, you took my soul away
Despair kills me, my heart is the prey

Since you left, flowers have lost their scent
You instantly broke my heart with no hint

Keep my chain around your neck, our love token
Once taken off, be sure my heart will be broken

No one will give you love like mine
My heart is shaped in matchless design

You will be sure of my love one day
I will be waiting for you every day
In solitude, I ponder how to guard thy grace,
While facing the treacheries time may embrace.
Time, once aflame, now wanes to ember's glare,
Yet your love, an elusive dream, lingers fair.

How shall I shield thee if days betray our trust?
If destiny decrees, and love turns to dust?
Depart from me, let me face fate's decree,
But take my heart, so pain won't shadow me.

Life's burdens ease when happiness prevails,
And worldly woes recede when hope exhales.
Walk not with me toward shadows profound,
Nor towards a future where anguish is crowned.

A myriad worries and ghosts doth pursue,
As my wounds wail in sorrow's rue.
Before my eyes, my dreams decay and rust,
With naught to call for hope or trust.

Your love, still my last ambition, my final plea,
Yet worries assail, pursuing me like a plea.
All that remains of my dreams is but dust,
Pain, the remnant of joy, turning to rust.

Above, a darkened veil shrouds the sky's light,
Below, thorns and flames test my resolve's height.
In this age, there exists naught but thee,
Have mercy on this heart that bled for thee.

Your love rekindled my heart anew,
After years of sorrow, of pain, I once knew.
What did my heart do to deserve such despair?
Once, you were my earth, my sky, my air.

Why make my world a realm of gloom and night?
Why insist on parting, on fleeing from sight?
What turned your heart to such cold disdain?
Has love vanished? Is only sorrow to remain?

Did your heart, once tender, turn to wield a blade?
Casting me into darkness where morning's light fades.
Who erred in wronging the other, who's to blame?
Who transformed from lover to a selfish name?

You shattered my heart, reduced it to shards,
Taking earth from beneath me, skies from above.
Is this the way of the world, the way of time?
After love, must parting and forgetting climb?

Does my heart deserve such anguish from thee?
After affection, passion, and shared agony.
I endured much for thee, yet more I'll bear,
The world grows harsher, but without you, I fear.

You were my dearest, my most beloved friend,
I fear for you, your soul, and how you'll tend.
Must I be harsh for you to comprehend?
Will you endure my torment, as here I bend?

How did you hide this heart, this stone so cold?
Once, you hid it behind that face, so bold.
Is it time for masks to fall away?
Is it time for you to slice my heart, betray?

I never wished to linger for a day like this,
To hear thunder from your lips, amiss.
Did you wait to witness my longing's demise?
To see my heart amidst burning skies?

Why this betrayal, this vengeful art?
Why this deceit, why this pain at heart?
A day will come when your eyes will weep,
When my faded feelings you'll finally reap.

That day draws near, so await its song,
Not for vengeance, but for my departure long.
The harshest punishment is to leave you alone,
To face life's waves, adrift and unknown.

To realize the value lost, my heart's demise,
To regret the innocent heart you've sacrificed.
Stay away, stay far from me,
Love's feelings departed, for you to see.

Whatever happens, I'll never forgive,
For a heart so cruel, so eager to grieve.
You chose once, chose your own path to tread,
Your joy, your happiness, while my heart bled.

No longer do I have a heart to love you again,
No longer beats it for a departed friend.
Within my ribs, it remains, yet still,
But your love, inside, fades, fades until.

I no longer recall your treacherous gaze,
My heart finds solace, while my eyes blaze.
Seek solace for yourself, akin to thee,
For you have become one of enmity.

Leave me be, for I no longer see thee,
And the heart that once longed now begins to flee.
Love lingers within me, within my chest,
But it's meant for another, this is your quest.
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Innocence can’t survive these times, so I come to love you
before the void. We dreamed of a haven for refugees,
shelter for birds, water for palms. We watched spring turn to ash,

the sun burn itself away, the river of wine become blood.
The edge of my own pride was both border and blade.
Just look at how my hand can close.

But your love is my shade and my Nile,
and the ragged path of hope is still a path.
Come—we still dream within weariness.

Come—any day’s light is still daylight,
and at night the moon still beams.
Love, we are pure revelation.

Love threads every agony, kindles the lost.
Consider: if I pulled the shutters, and squandered the faith
that made me, would that grieving quell anguish?

Since our eyes are pale night, faint light, let’s send fire
into the abyss, shout in the impossible silence,
and weave a new image of leave-taking.
Translated from Arabic into English by Fogle and I, it won the prize of Rhino poetry and appeared in the same book in USA 2015.
Walid Abdallah Aug 2021
Come to love you for a night
Telling you everything right

Come to greet you with a kiss
Which a thousand articles fail to express

Come to hug you like a child
And lighten the burden you hide

Come to die in you to survive
At  a point where fancy can never arrive

Come to love you for once and make you my poem
Where separation will never bloom
Walid Abdallah Mar 2023
Say you love me, then disappear
It will be enough, I swear

I put my soul in your hand as a flower
Take my heart into space and flutter

I didn't adore you, you are just in my vein
Show mercy my princess, be gentle to my pain

You are the dream that inhabited my mind, I swear
Say you love me, just once, then disappear
Walid Abdallah Apr 2023
Don't think that I love you the same way as I write
I am a poet but when writing about our love I burn with no light

Don't think that writing about our love can ever express
It is only worried smoke of the fire that leaving me in a mess

Feelings can't be measured by a look, a touch or a word that my tongue forms

There is a big difference between what we hide and reveal in feelings, insomnia, and storms
Walid Abdallah Aug 2018
I always have a dream
Flowing into my veins like a stream

Throughout my life I wander about
Having deep faith to reach it, no doubt

I always keep it in my heart and mind
I am sure one day I will get it and find

I dream of a new world with no pain
A peaceful world, not insane

I dream of a world  full of peace and love
Where birds never stop singing and fluttering above

I dream of a world where lovers never separate
Forever together united by fate

I dream of a world full of trees and flowers
Where love, peace and brotherhood its only powers

I dream all people in one language they all speak
Where love ties and peaceful relations never break

I dream the world becomes fair and just
Where wars and conflicts become a very far past

I dream all people have the same feelings
All people become true human beings

I hope my dream comes true one day
And  "peace" becomes the only word people can say
Walid Abdallah Aug 2021
Each time I see you
I fall for you

How many hearts should I possess?
To explain my love to you and express

Each time I see you before my eyes
I love you again, ask my heart it never lies

I have only one heart to fall for you
You have the heartbeats that flow

You make my day night and my night day
I mean every and each word I say

You deserve the love of the whole universe
You deserve every emotion and feeling I possess

I spent all my life before you in vain
I wasted it in wandering bearing my pain

You appeared like a clear sky
Eliminated each pain and cry

You relieved all the pains I once felt
Only for you my heart and soul melt

Each time I see you
My heart shouts "I love you"
In Egypt's land, my heart forever lies,
Beneath the sun that paints the golden skies.

Where Nile flows gently, ancient stories tell,
Of pharaohs, pyramids, and desert's spell.

The pyramids stand proud in desert sand,
Great monuments that time could not withstand.

In Cairo's streets, the bustling life unfolds,
With markets bright, where history is sold.

The Sphinx's gaze looks out across the land,
Guarding secrets in the shifting sand.

Luxor's temples whisper of the past,
Where echoes of the gods forever last.

The Red Sea sparkles, blue and pure and grand,
Its coral reefs like jewels on the sand.

The date palms sway where gentle breezes blow,
O'er fields of green where ancient waters flow.

From Alexandria's shores to Aswan's light,
My Egypt shines, a beacon in the night.

Her beauty and her grace forever stay,
In hearts of those who wander far away.

Oh, Egypt, land of timeless, wondrous lore,
In your embrace, I find my soul's deep core.

A land of dreams where ancient meets the new,
My beloved Egypt, to you I’m ever true.
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Egypt, we left you in the nightfrost
where winter stormed your shaky frame
and Heaven learned to weep.
I see in your face
the longing for shelter,
how you smile despite the scars,
and the sun seeps up through night.
Behind lashes, the ruin of tears.
For now, pride and revolution
hold back more.

Driven by the cold, lines of exiles
settle in emptiness. In this stingey age,
the young who covet crusts of bread
left for poverty long ago.
Your blood is lost among the cracked skulls
of women and elders, lost
in ******’ perfume,
lost in a glass of wine.
The Arab nation can’t blame us
for being sick of the drums of brotherhood.

Beloved invalid, what happened to beauty?
Where are the colorful clothes,
and the perfume that filled all creation?
We fleeced it all, even vows and modesty,
left you jilted in the pit of our ignorance.

O holy land that still and forever summons hope for the pilgrim
O rose through which we embrace grief
O love that we adore in purity as well as sin

When we are discarded by darkness,
you are the one whose mouth is bright.
Don’t abandon your perfume.
Tomorrow the sky alive again with your scent
and I will feel your body rise once more.

Come to us, beloved,
in the tattered age of strays.
Come for us, inner haven,
in a time of tyrants.
I got used to crying as soon as I started.
Now I can’t stop.
While a glass shatters, grief persists
and purity is a rarity,
but your beauty beams and hums,
like autumn blazing on through winter winds.

We faithful children witness springs flowing through frost,
the scent of yearning, and the perfume of blood.
Your people, Egypt, arc and seam the generations,
so don’t ask anyone else for reconstruction,
don’t cry over what you have given,
and don’t look back in grief.
Be mouth and eye and voice as you always have
since the earth’s first secret,
and forgive us, O temple of the soul, O black
delta soil, forgive us for God’s sake.

For the eyes with which I can see

For the heart without which I will never be

For the love of my life as a whole

For my eyes, heart and soul

Although now I can't see her

She has all my love and care

She is the only cure for my pain

She is the love, I can't explain

Her love no words can ever express

She is the only one I always miss

Only for her- these lines - I dedicate

For the love determined only by fate
When my beloved feels sad, the skies turn gray,
The sun hides its face, and joy fades away.

Stars lose their sparkle, and the moon won’t gleam,
Her sorrow clouds the world, a silent dream.

But when she smiles, the universe comes alive,
The sun beams brightly, and the stars revive.

Birds sing sweet songs, and the rain gently falls,
Nature dances in joy, answering her calls.

Her happiness brings light to every place,
A glow that shines upon her radiant face.

The flowers bloom with colors bold and bright,
And every heart is filled with pure delight.

Her laughter echoes through the trees and skies,
A melody that lifts all spirits high.

When she feels joy, the whole world seems to know,
In her delight, all living things do grow.

So, when my beloved feels happy and free,
The universe smiles, just as it should be.

Her bliss makes the earth and heavens rejoice,
All nature sings with one harmonious voice.

Finding you is getting my life again

Forgetting my sufferings and pain

You put me on the right way

After being lost, being astray

Now I love life for your sake

Forgetting all what is false or fake

You are the one I ever searched for

Because of you, I tasted the love I never knew before

My heart is forever young
A divine hymn to be sung

I love everyone and always forgive
As twice as I take, I always give

I try to be nice as possible as I can
Of peace and love I am a great fan

Life is short to waste in hate
Let tolerance be our only fate

Love people and nature around
Only the base of justice we must found

Leave good mark on each heart you meet
Let your nice memory your main good feat

Whenever you go spread love and affection
Be much nicer than people's prediction

Treat everyone equally be always fair
Show everyone your respect and care

Being respectful is something you never regret
You will be rewarded more than you expect

We are on earth to make it a paradise
Listen to me and follow my advice

Dream big and complain less
Sadness never lasts and neither does happiness

Think positively and always be optimistic
You can't change your fate by being pessimistic

Let live, love and learn your goal
Carve them deep in your soul

The heart that doesn't know envy lives longer
It has better destiny and grows stronger

My heart is forever young
A divine hymn to be sung

Forget…?      Not yet.

I was a little kid one day
I knew nothing but how to play
Once we had a big house and a tree
The paradise I used to see
I was playing with other boys
Around the tree with different toys
I always had a dream in my head
To grow up, be bigger than a kid
I always had a wish
Never to know grief or anguish
Did I forget…..?
Never….not yet.

One day I had black hair
Satisfied with my parent's care
I knew nowhere but my parents' embrace
I knew that is our house and our place
I still remember my white kite
Flying over our house before my sight
Going to school with friends of my age
Once I was young … a little page
Once we had a full life of our own
Once we had our sun and moon
Did I forget…..?
Never ……not yet.

Suddenly I grew up a thousand years
With cries, grief and tears
It was the first time to hear about Zionist occupiers
Of our own life, they are defiers
Everything turned upside down one day
My black hair turned into grey
They destroyed our house and tree
Heard lots of desperate cries…Alas, it was me!
And showed up one Zionist
And said to me "Get out, terrorist"
Did I forget…….?
Never….,not yet.

My own parents, they brutally slew
Our house and tree, they fiercely up blew
I had no ability even to weep
As terror into my heart began to creep
Our own life, they have stolen
Our house and tree have fallen
Zionists shouted, "We came to take your land"
Your sky, desert and sand
They said, "Of our own land-get out
With guns' and tanks' shout
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

I began to walk away and run
Under flaming sky and weeping sun
They forced me to desert my land, what a vile!
In my own country, everlasting exile!
All houses, schools and mosques, they demolished
All our friends and relations, they perished
Under my feet I lost my way
In my country, I became astray
My parent slept in eternal peace
They took every comfort and left me no piece
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

I was looking for a place to settle
With no food and water was so little
A while passed and saw some kids like me
They ran away, they did nothing but to flee
We lived together
We were brother to brother
Recalling what happened before our eyes
And our cries reached the skies
Everyone, his story, told
With weather was so cold
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

We promised each other
To defend our country together
We would get back our land
Arm with arm and hand to hand
We are stronger with the power of faith
We have no fear to face
Together we would sweep them out
With our faith, without doubt
The day will come so soon
And get back our sun and moon
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Pain and torture they invent
With horror and deliberate intent
Every time they **** one of ours
The more we gain powers
One day they will definitely taste the same pain
That's what we keep in heart and brain
They make our streets full of bones
We are much stronger with stones
Keep demolishing houses more and more
We have more stones and they are our weapon and cure
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

As long as there is a drop of sweat
Our country will come back to us as we expect
As long as there is a drop of blood in our vein
Our struggle would never be in vain
We will achieve our own dream
We will cross every sea and stream
To see a green branch of leaves
Only when the last Zionist leaves
Our relations whose lives they sacrifice
In a procession direct to paradise
With prophets and martyrs they live together
An eternal life that would never wither
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

The land is ours and forever will remain
Despite all people, they **** and detain
On the land where Jesus Christ once put his feet
The same land will witness their defeat
Zionists plant sorrow  and envy
God is watching and destiny
We have God's right
With which dawn overcomes long night
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Al Aqsa weeps and calls
Its lobbies and halls
So many martyrs on its land, no matter
For the pigeon again to come and flutter
Despite all Zionists' crimes, the world turned the deaf ear
Our dream is getting closer, it is very near
For our country we come like water flow
Yearning for our clear sky and blue
We never surrender or agree
To be slaves after being free
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Our waiting will never be so long
Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa to us they belong
We will get our right back
And put an end to the night so black
We will get our life again
And get our land every mount and plain
Al-Aqsa will open again to pray
And will never be an easy prey
Our kids will never be slaves
With freedom every new born behaves
Did we forget?
Never, never, never, not yet.

I carried all I had through the tangled night, blaming the road
that spurred me backward to green windows, witness

to the hunger of our bodies, witness to the underside
of forever. Alone now in the road’s slow night,

I re-sense the first days’ blush, the flash
of your hand in mine: how do you bear all that is past?

Such bluff inside my boast: I will forget you.
I try to move on, but a shadow slides along, chiding that folly.

Beside the road, pale light seeps into yellow tulips,
and I quicken for what is lost: youth, freedom, dreams.

Aimless, I stare at the ground until dizziness takes me.
Somewhere in the dust of these empty streets where we began:

the warmth of our hands. Somewhere in this dust
our savoring footsteps, somewhere my roving tears.

Like the endless road, my story is here and there at once.
Can I resist the was that beckons? Shall I continue alone?

As your memory strums the chord in my chest,
the threads of my journey unravel, unravel.
Translated from Arabic by Fogle and I.

For you, I am really ready to fall
For you, I give my life and soul

For you, I will give my past away
For you, I always care and pray

For you, my heart always beats and calls
For you, the earth orbits and the rain falls

For you, birds flutter, sing and fly
For you, rivers flood and never dry

For you, the sun rises every day
For you, roses blossom without delay

For you, planets keep orbiting the sun
For you, days and nights are full of fun

For you, plants and trees dance in spring
For you, only true love my heart will bring

For you, the moon illuminates the night
For you, the sun becomes very bright

For you, stars decorate the sky
For you, I have wings to fly

For you, the beach hugs the sea
For you, only true love you will see
With age, the silver threads weave through our hair,
And lines of wisdom show a life that’s fair.

Our steps grow slower, yet our hearts beat strong,
In memories, we find where we belong.

Each wrinkle tells a story, bold and bright,
Of days now past, of love, and youthful light.

Though sight may dim and hearing fade away,
Our inner vision sharpens, clear as day.

We cherish every dawn and setting sun,
For life’s sweet race is nearly run.

The strength of youth may slowly ebb and wane,
But peace of mind and joy we still retain.

In every laugh, a thousand echoes ring,
Of all the joy and sorrow life did bring.

With every tear, a well of wisdom grows,
For through life’s trials, true understanding flows.

The years bestow a grace that youth can’t see,
A gentle heart, a spirit wild and free.

And though our bodies tire and days grow cold,
Our souls remain forever young and bold.

With age, we learn to value simple things,
The warmth of love, the hope a new day brings.

In twilight’s glow, we find a quiet peace,
As life’s long journey softly finds its cease.

So let us age with dignity and pride,
For in our hearts, eternal youth resides.

For the first time I feel I am fortunate
God gave me the best gift to be my fate

With love water, you irrigate my soul
My heart grew in love with your call

I don't exaggerate, I weave my love into verse
I just make the left of my chest your universe

Only you have the key to live there forever
My heart beats only when we are together

Your love buds blossom on my heart's wall
On my chest, the letters of your name  crawl

Your love pumps blood into my veins
You are the delicate breeze when it rains

Because of you, in life I have faith and belief
In your tender hug, I found comfort and relief

Forever, for you I am ready to wait
I never get bored at your heart's gate

If I have you, all my dreams come true
Between your arms, I never feel blue

I carry you everywhere I go deep in my chest
I hold the first letter of your name tight in my fist
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
My life is so bright
As I am enjoying the moonlight
For the moon every night I wait for
I know it will come up for sure
I can see my beloved in the moon face
With my eyes I hug and embrace
Can you imagine the sky without its moon?
It is like a nightingale that lost its tone
The moon is a witness of our love up in the sky
That makes our hearts flutter and fly
The moon sometimes appears and sometimes can disappear
After joy and happiness, life is full of fear
Go ye moon and ask her
My only love and dear
Why she let me in her love to fall
And before her I didn't know love at all
From my love stars and moon learn
To keep awake shinning and burn
If I can open my eyes for all
I will look at you and never blink at all
For your love I always long
To you my heart and soul they belong
Although your love sometimes gives me pain
Pains that I can't explain
I love the moon for your sake
I adore it and can never forsake
Go ye moon ask her if she loves me or not
Whom I love and to forget I can not
I will always be faithful and steadfast
As my love for you will always last
How I can the fear frame to destroy
And escape to your arms and my joy
Your love is carved in my heart and soul
Your face with the moon I always recall
Go ya moon and ask her
If she deserve all my care
If her love is really sheer
Why she is always far not near
Since I knew her, I knew what the meaning of pride
Since then I have affection and tenderness beside
There is something inside my heart
Tells me never go, never depart
If forget everything may I
Never forget your eye
I love you, I confess
Nothing will change my love more or less
Go ye moon and tell her
She owns my heartbeats and always has my care
I love you….I swear
You own every heartbeat I bear
Since I have known you, my heart began to blow
For sincere love and cure
I will always be your angel guard
From any difficult times or hard
You have changed my love my dear
I have known true love after pain and fear
Go ye moon and ask her
How all this love in my heart to bear
Oh my only love and true
You deserve a river of love to flow
When you leave me my heart cries
Waiting for your love and sighs
Every heartbeat for you I send
As your love has no limit, has no end
Don't leave me, never say bye
Don't let the moon leave its sky
Go ye moon and tell her
She of course deserves all my love and care

You are my dream for every new year
Being together, there is nothing to fear

Every new year, you're my hope and desire
You are the love that will never expire

Every new year, you're the beginning and start
Your love is deep rooted into my heart

Every day with you is a heavenly bless
My love increases, will never be less

You gave me the hope and reason to fight
You are the moon that illuminates my night

Let's celebrate our new year together
Let's make a love story that lasts forever

Together we can change the face of universe
Everything will be blessed, no room for a curse

There will be a new world in the new year
All living things smile when your are near

Every new year, stay close to plant love everywhere
Every new year, you have all my love and care

Every new year, I live for you
My love river will always flow
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Away from you, the world is just a vast jail
Whenever I wander about, I always fail

You taught me how to love and give
You taught me how to be kind and forgive

You have my heart, yet you deserve more
Eternal happiness with you I always hope for

Although these years I can't get
It is still so hard for me to forget

I always long for your love and care
As all the happy moments we always share

All these happy memories, remind me
You are the life without which I will never be

Away from you, away from happiness
Among different people but live in loneliness

Your love will never be past
Your love will ever last

Whenever the world becomes so hard and  cruel
Whenever I find your hug so warm and cool

When my love, all people ask for
Your love is still much more

Whenever the burden is too heavy to bear
You are the one who shows love and care

If you deserve something, you deserve the skies
Away from you my heart weeps and cries

Between your arms tenderness and affection settle
Love flows from your heart when it is so little

When I do wrong and you must hate
In your heart I find the happiest fate

You always look at me in a loving way
No words can describe my love or say

You are the first intimate friend of mine
You are the first kindness and loving sign

For me, you always supply and pray
In time when love begins to decay

Away from you, it is hard to survive
Away from you, I always suffer and strive

No words on earth can explain
How much love of you I gain

You always care for and put me first
You water my heart in time of thirst

Beside you happiness I first met
And happy moments I always get

That's why it is hard to forget
Walid Abdallah Mar 2023
I built a home in my heart for you alone
I loved my heart when it became your own

If you need my heart, I happily offer
You can have my soul too forever

For you, my whole life is nothing to present
It would be a gift for you ready to be sent
In innocence, I come to you, as a child,
To parents dear, from battles wild,

From weariness and toil, I've tread,
From nights so dark, where rest had fled.

I come to you, from wandering's plight,
Seeking refuge in your sight,

As people find their way back home,
My path to you, in heart's roam.

And still your face, in absence strong,
Remains my solace, all along.
Walid Abdallah Aug 2023
If only you knew how much I love you
You wouldn't ask for a proof or a clue

If only you knew how I feel
You would help my heart heal

If only you were here in front of my eyes
You would know where my happiness lies

If only you knew my heart follows your steps
You would hold me between your eyes' lips

If only you looked into my eyes so deep
You wouldn't leave my heart in your absence weep

If only you could see my soul
You would hear its desperate call

If only you could touch my hand
You would definitely understand

If only you could feel my pains
You would see yourself in my veins

If only we met a hundred years before
I would still love you much more

If only we were together now and forever
I would find peace longing for years to discover
Walid Abdallah Nov 2020
If time went back, I would have a life
I wouldn't suffer from a lifelong strife

I would hold your hand in the rain
And hide my tears flood and pain

I would look into your eyes and say
Your presence nearby makes my day

I would hold you forever
And to leave you,  never

I would hear your heart beats song
And dwell your heart where I belong

I would see or hear no one but you
Only for you, my heart would blow

I would taste the honey of your lips
And touch the highest mountains tips

I would drown into your hug sea
And plant an evergreen leafy tree

Birds would have their nests there
And keep singing the love they bear

Butterflies would decorate its leaves
Where love is born and never leaves

Our love would give life to everything
Only happiness, fate would bring

There would never be a heartbreak
You would always stay for my sake

Flowers would dance and swing
Bees would rejoice and sing

Your touch would make me alive again
And pacify the heart knew nothing but pain

Waves of the ocean would be calm and quiet
Due to the love born from the first sight

We would never separate
We would make our fate
Walid Abdallah Nov 2019
If you were here, life would smile
The desert would taste the Nile

Birds would never stop singing
The sun would never stop burning

Trees would blossom in the fall
Leaves would  grow but never fall

My heartbeats would call your name
Each beat would never be the same

I would look at you and never blink
Into your deep heart I would sink

I would feel the warmth of your breath
Butterflies would never know death

Stars would happily dance in the sky
Mountain dew would never dry

The sun would never set
Trees would never be wet

Snow would never melt
Sorrow would never be felt

Joy would always dominate
The moon would never be late

The desert would be green
Sand would never be seen

Flowers would no longer wither
Day and night would be seen together

Storms would stop blowing
Rivers would never stop flowing

If you were here, in my arms so near
Life would stop orbiting only to hear

The heart that beats only for your sake
Promise me you will never break
Walid Abdallah Oct 2019
If you will, you can reach your goals
Man with ambitions never falls

Go for your dream, be ready to fight
Beat your weakness, overcome your night

Always live happily and dream big
Make dreams a crown to be your wig

Let your actions make your noise
Always make success your voice

No room for the weak on this land
Plant your dreams even in rock or sand

Create wings and learn to fly
Conquer your fears and never cry

Wander about the earth to find yourself
Never give up, never put your dreams on a shelf

Never waste your time in regret
Your dreams are closer than you expect

When you fall down, stand up at once
Everyone must taste failure at least once

Success after tiredness is very sweet
Set plans to create your feat

Surround yourself with the optimistic
Get rid of the nasty and the pessimistic

In order to reach the success shore
You need to cross the deep moor

If you will, you can
****** your dream, be a man

I will give you support that is enough

Whenever you want to cry
I will be there your sigh

Whenever you want to fly
I will be always there your sky

Wherever you go on this earth
I will be always there your breath

When you feel lonely and under pressure
I will be always your happiness treasure

I will stop loving you
When the sun doesn't shine
And dreams are no longer mine
When hopes run out
And volcanoes no longer shout
When all the oceans become dry
And you count all the stars in the sky
When all the trees' leaves wither
And the earth has only one weather
When deserts blossom and flower
And waters of rivers become sour
When the colors of nature fade
And all trees lose their shade
When we have eternal day or night
And all people lose their sight
When the trees stop dancing in the wind
And the mountains collapse and bend
When rocks and stones cry
And cats and rabbits fly
When winds no longer blow
And waters in rivers and seas no longer flow
When ice and snow in the poles melt
And all living things become mud or silt
When I no longer breathe
And life has no air or breeze
I will stop loving you
When I am chosen by death
And your love gives me a new birth
