Life
Walid Abdallah Oct 2018
Days always run so fast
What is present becomes past

People constantly come and go
some are fake, some are true

Life is very weird and so strange
Nothing remains, people change

We live in a very difficult test
We go with the flow or  resist

When we love, life becomes a paradise
When we don't, the sun will never rise

To find  love, you are fortunate
Life smiles to you and so does fate

Life is a mixture of day and night
Even our sky is dark and  bright

To live in peace, we must understand
Life consists of a sky and land

Happiness lies in our satisfaction
So we must accept the contradiction

My heart still beats
Walid Abdallah Aug 2018
Everyone needs someone to care for
Everybody needs someone to love and adore

Everyone needs someone in joy and torture
To share their beloved in present and future

To live alone, life is so bitter
To live in love, life is much better

Come closer, much closer to me
Let's make one loving entity

Stay with me in my life
To bear pains and strife

Come closer touch my love and feel
Cure my heart wounds and heal

Make me feel alive again
You dwell my heart and brain

I see rosy dreams in your eyes
You have become my land and skies

Life will come back again to earth
And give it a new being, a new birth

Come closer, don't go away
Deep inside my hear reside and stay

You are the joy of my life and cure
The relief of my pains I never tasted before

The sun of my love to you will never set
You have enthralled my heart since we met

We can touch the sky together
Our love created flowers that don't wither

Our love makes trees swing in the wind
Carrying the longing my heart and soul send

My love runs with each drop of the falling rain
Your love runs with each drop of blood in my vein

Because of you my heart can beat again
You gave my life a meaning that no words can explain

Dream
Walid Abdallah Aug 2018
I always have a dream
Flowing into my veins like a stream

Throughout my life I wander about
Having deep faith to reach it, no doubt

I always keep it in my heart and mind
I am sure one day I will get it and find

I dream of a new world with no pain
A peaceful world, not insane

I dream of a world  full of peace and love
Where birds never stop singing and fluttering above

I dream of a world where lovers never separate
Forever together united by fate

I dream of a world full of trees and flowers
Where love, peace and brotherhood its only powers

I dream all people in one language they all speak
Where love ties and peaceful relations never break

I dream the world becomes fair and just
Where wars and conflicts become a very far past

I dream all people have the same feelings
All people become true human beings

I hope my dream comes true one day
And  "peace" becomes the only word people can say

Be Mad
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
As you want, be mad
Hurt my feelings, you once had

Break the vases and mirror together
Threaten to love another

It is nothing, whatever you say
Whatever you do, no attention I pay

You are like kids, my lover
Even if you hurt me, I will love you forever

On being mad, how wonderful you are!
Without waves or sky, there wouldn't be sea or star

Stormy or angry, forever will be
My heart is the forgiveness you see

Be mad, will never answer you with defy
Never answer despite your shouts and cry

You are just a kid full of vanity
And birds never punish their kids but always show pity

If I am boring, just desert me
And accuse me, fate and destiny

Too many tears and too much grief by my side
Keeping silence is pride, grief is pride

If you are too tired to stay
Life is full of black and green eyed girls to play

When you need to see me
When you miss my affection to see

Come back to my heart, just try
In my life, you are the air, the land and sky

Be mad whenever you desire
Then go and let me taste fire

But one day you must come back and know
Loyalty is me and God created me for you

My youth? Long gone,
and the now-young
have slashed their veins.

Our heady days are ash,
the wilderness of our dreams
has vanished like a mirage,

night smashed our hope, and we
had to swallow all that.
That’s destiny for you.

Why gather in the world
of yearning? Why not keep
us apart? Don’t ask me

how we got lost;
we were mixed up back then,
living love one day,

missing it the next,
so don’t blame me if I turn
our life into song: I live

in the poem’s ever-stream.
Do you see the clump of days
left like flowers in the night?

Don’t be like roses people
toss in the streets the way night
did us, destiny’s playthings.

Despite the map of my wounds,
I got lost. Despite the gag
of the past, I’ll sing on.

Cause
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Innocence can’t survive these times, so I come to love you
before the void. We dreamed of a haven for refugees,
shelter for birds, water for palms. We watched spring turn to ash,

the sun burn itself away, the river of wine become blood.
The edge of my own pride was both border and blade.
Just look at how my hand can close.

But your love is my shade and my Nile,
and the ragged path of hope is still a path.
Come—we still dream within weariness.

Come—any day’s light is still daylight,
and at night the moon still beams.
Love, we are pure revelation.

Love threads every agony, kindles the lost.
Consider: if I pulled the shutters, and squandered the faith
that made me, would that grieving quell anguish?

Since our eyes are pale night, faint light, let’s send fire
into the abyss, shout in the impossible silence,
and weave a new image of leave-taking.
Translated from Arabic into English by Fogle and I, it won the prize of Rhino poetry and appeared in the same book in USA 2015.

Our Martyrs
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Inside their tombs, our martyrs are whispering,
Oh God, we are coming back.

On land they are lifting their hands,
and their voices grow in the silence of the grave:
Oh God, we are coming back.

Stones fall, ashes rise, and their eyes beam,
Oh God, we are coming back.

Our martyrs stepped out of their coffins,
lined up and raised the shout:
Shame on you cowards.
Our home is sold, our nation
a herd of sheep, and you sleep.

Our martyrs travel to Al Aqsa Mosque,
they pray in the churches of Lebanon,
they wander the streets of Jerusalem,
they break into prisons in every land.

They rise from the ashes of the captive home
and preach on every corner of a beaten nation.

They call in the midst of massacres,
God is greater than this man-made world,
God is greater than this man-made world,
God is greater than this man-made world.

Our martyrs are approaching, their shouts echoing
on the walls of Beirut. They gather in the streets
to fight in darkness despite the pale light.

In homes bound by humiliation and madness, they call,
Oh God we are coming back.
One day our coffins will light all of Jerusalem.

They are coming back to break into the castle.

On every corner, they ask the cowards,
Why did you tolerate the wolf, sleeping
amidst sheep, a home as whole as the universe
auctioned off, overrun with rats?

Cowards who sold out our broken home,
our living ancestors, there you are
on the screen, drunk in the fuss,
walking Death, hypocrisy, and control,
we will rid our holy dead of you,
and of the irony of the age.

Oh God we are coming back.

Don’t believe that people killed
in a battle for God are dead,
they are still alive in God.

*

Our martyrs, roaring on every corner of the land,
streams of them asking,
Oh living, what are you doing?

Every day you’re double-crossed and slain
like sheep, surrendering your rights,
running like rats to the wolves,
leaving your people weeping

while you are prostrate before America’s
dollars and the images on screen.

Rats in all sorts of compromising ways.

And in the mad laughter of calamity,
a nation is sold into collapse.

Two images collapse into one:

while kneeling,
your heads under their shoes,
and our Arab Jerusalem,
given to wolves by the drunken.

With Lebanon adrift in blood, and tyranny
on the prowl, our martyrs shout
from every corner, Does honor
have a place? Where have the rebels
disappeared? Why have the sellouts fled?

The silent, the forgetful, and the two-tongued
all keep their mouths shut.
If you ask, they give you official nonsense.
If you ask, you get a bullet in the eye.

*

When you march in the parade of commerce
you wind up sold. History shows traitors
no mercy. The flood washes
over all of you chasing death
with the ad-man chasing you
to sell you tomorrow in the slave market.

Our priests are oblivious in their seats,
drunk on the power of reign and rule.

Our people in prison-darkness. All of them asleep.

When do the sleeping awaken?
When the sleeping wake.

Forgetting
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
I carried all I had through the tangled night, blaming the road
that spurred me backward to green windows, witness

to the hunger of our bodies, witness to the underside
of forever. Alone now in the road’s slow night,

I re-sense the first days’ blush, the flash
of your hand in mine: how do you bear all that is past?

Such bluff inside my boast: I will forget you.
I try to move on, but a shadow slides along, chiding that folly.

Beside the road, pale light seeps into yellow tulips,
and I quicken for what is lost: youth, freedom, dreams.

Aimless, I stare at the ground until dizziness takes me.
Somewhere in the dust of these empty streets where we began:

the warmth of our hands. Somewhere in this dust
our savoring footsteps, somewhere my roving tears.

Like the endless road, my story is here and there at once.
Can I resist the was that beckons? Shall I continue alone?

As your memory strums the chord in my chest,
the threads of my journey unravel, unravel.

Mirage
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
You are lamenting love that left one day
for the world of the impossible.

It was a dream, but is there anything
except illusion and make-believe anyway?

Our life is a summer cloud’s thick shade.

You lament love’s autumn folds,
and the division of all we shared.

Who said anything lasts?  Hopes melt
and a sole question remains: Why enter my life

if dreams only turn to sand,
heat-haze blurring into heat-haze?

Strangers’ Cross
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Yearning always led me
to project my vision onto you,
was a chanting fidelity,
was faith’s hymn through long nights.
Yearning made me fall for you.

Days pass, and adoration swells.
I set my bags at your door
and said goodbye to travel and trouble,
set down all my sins,
forgave their world and its people.

Yearning taught me how to survive
and how to heed the inside.
Now my eyes long light.
Even as yearning made me suffer love,
I still burn deep down.

We promised things, and now we’re strangers.
Love, I have nothing left, but I still believe
in promises. If we are to be no more, know,
know, that I am the one
whose love is beyond this vision.
Translated from Arabic by Fogle and I, it was published in Reunion: The Dallas Review in USA 2016
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
As long as we are ruled by madness, hounds
will devour fetuses still in their wombs,
mines will sprout in wheat fields, and even
the crossed light of morning will be eye-fire.

We’ll see the young hanged, wronged
at the dawn prayer. It’s an age witness
to a snarling pig fouling mosques.

When madness rules, there are white flowers
on the ruined branches, emptiness
in a child’s eyes, no kindness, no faith, no
dignity held sacred. All fates futureless,

everything present worthless. As long as madness
rules, the children of Baghdad can only guess
why they wander hunger’s thorns,

why they share the bread of death, why off
in the distance, American Indians
hover in the cold, why greed shouts them down,
every race crawling ghost-hearted.

Through blood-colored streets, between humiliation
and disbelief, crippled shadows creep,
and the madness-hounds howl in our minds.

We are on our way to death.

The children of Baghdad scream in the streets
as Hulagu’s army pounds the city’s doors
like an epidemic; his grandchildren roar
over the bodies of our young.

The wings of wild birds are blood rivers,
black claws claw eyes—all this cracks the silence.

The Tigris River remembers those days, so look
behind the curtain of history—how many
aggressors have passed through the centuries
of our land, and still we resist?

Hulagu will die, and the Iraqi children
will dance in front of Degla. We are not
to be hanged from all corners of Baghdad.

*

A river can be a weapon against injustice on the earth.
A palm can be a weapon against injustice.
A garden can be a weapon.

Among the water, in the silence
of tunnels, though we hate death,
for God and right we will set fire forever
to your refusal that Islam is holy.

Baghdad, ***** by tyranny, your children
are raising flags. Where are the Arabs
and the white swords, wild horses, glorious families?

Some of them were condemned, some
fled shameful, some stripped and gave away
their clothes, and some are lined up in the devil’s hall
to get their share of the spoils.

And people ask about a great nation’s ruins,
but nothing remains of that shining empire
that spans from the ocean to the gulf.

Every calamity has its cause.

They sold the horses and traded in
the knights in the market of rhetoric:
Down with history! Long live hot air!

Death comes to the children of Baghdad
in the smallest toys, in the parks, in restaurants,
in the dust. Walls collapse on the procession of history,
shame upon civilization, shame from a thousand borders.

From the unknown, a missile charges,
“Where are the weapons of mass destruction?”

Will daylight come again after the ****** smile
has been erased, after planes block the sunrays,
and our dreams spurt suicidal blood?

By what law do you demolish our homes,
and flood fire upon a thousand minarets?

In Baghdad, days pass, from hunger to hunger,
thirst to thirst, under the gaze of the master
of the mansion, the thousand-masked face.
Will there never be an end to this nonsense?

The curtain rises: we are the beginning.

To starve people—is this honor?
“To prey upon supplicants”—that’s the glorious slogan of victory?
To chase children from one house to another—the joy of tyranny.

These days, people have the right to humiliation, submission,
death in every atom, and the chronic question,
“Where are the weapons of mass destruction?”

The children of Baghdad are playing in schools:
a ball here, a ball there, a child here, a child there,
a pen here, a pen there, a mine here, a death there.
Among the fragments, the cactus.

There were children here yesterday,
fluttering like pigeons in open spaces.
One of these days, dawn might lighten the universe,
but for now the sun of justice is far below the horizon.

Despite sacrifice, there is a dark gluttony:
some are faithful, and some are sellouts.

Oh nation of Mohammad, my heart longs for Al Hussein.
Oh Baghdad, land of Caliph Rasheed,
oh castle of history, and once-glorious age,
the two moments between night and day are death and feast.

Among the martyrs’ fragments,
the throne of the universe, shaken by a young voice.
The dark night leaves when a new day flows.

Oh land of Al Rasheed, don’t lose hope, every tyranny ends:
a child adores Baghdad, holds a white notebook and flowers,
paper and poetry, some piasters from the last feast.

*
*

Behind his eyes, a tear that won’t break
but flows like light deep in his heart: the picture
of his father who left one day and never returned.
The child embraces ashes, and stays a long time.

A thread of blood runs through his mouth;
his voice and shed blood are one.
His features washed out; all of this world is separation.

The child whispers, I long for Baghdad’s day.
Who said oil is worth more than blood?

Don’t ache, Baghdad, don’t surrender.
Although there is dissent in this blind time,
there is, in the far horizon, a wave of visions.

Although the dream is distant, it rises. Rise,
and spread my bones in the Tigris River,
so daylight will one day rise over my funeral procession.

God is greater than the madness of death.
Who said oil is worth more than blood?
Translated from Arabic by Fogle and I.

Egypt’s Grief
Walid Abdallah Jul 2018
Egypt, we left you in the nightfrost
where winter stormed your shaky frame
and Heaven learned to weep.
I see in your face
the longing for shelter,
how you smile despite the scars,
and the sun seeps up through night.
Behind lashes, the ruin of tears.
For now, pride and revolution
hold back more.

Driven by the cold, lines of exiles
settle in emptiness. In this stingey age,
the young who covet crusts of bread
left for poverty long ago.
Your blood is lost among the cracked skulls
of women and elders, lost
in ******’ perfume,
lost in a glass of wine.
The Arab nation can’t blame us
for being sick of the drums of brotherhood.

Beloved invalid, what happened to beauty?
Where are the colorful clothes,
and the perfume that filled all creation?
We fleeced it all, even vows and modesty,
left you jilted in the pit of our ignorance.

O holy land that still and forever summons hope for the pilgrim
O rose through which we embrace grief
O love that we adore in purity as well as sin

When we are discarded by darkness,
you are the one whose mouth is bright.
Don’t abandon your perfume.
Tomorrow the sky alive again with your scent
and I will feel your body rise once more.

Come to us, beloved,
in the tattered age of strays.
Come for us, inner haven,
in a time of tyrants.
I got used to crying as soon as I started.
Now I can’t stop.
While a glass shatters, grief persists
and purity is a rarity,
but your beauty beams and hums,
like autumn blazing on through winter winds.

We faithful children witness springs flowing through frost,
the scent of yearning, and the perfume of blood.
Your people, Egypt, arc and seam the generations,
so don’t ask anyone else for reconstruction,
don’t cry over what you have given,
and don’t look back in grief.
Be mouth and eye and voice as you always have
since the earth’s first secret,
and forgive us, O temple of the soul, O black
delta soil, forgive us for God’s sake.
A translated poem from Arabic by Andy Fogle and I of Farouk Goweda's احزان مصر  and was published in the Image Journal in USA 2017.

A New Being
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Let me drown into your sea of feeling
Give me a new identity, a new being

Love me forever my dear
No longer see but you, I swear

Let me escape to your arms
Hide me of the wild world harms

Don't ever forget me, please
Or all my heartbeats will cease

I promise to love you much more
Just give me the chance to prove how I adore

I hate the smell of being away from you
Terrible feelings inside me to flow

Don't ever leave me alone
The sky can't be deserted by its moon

I always dream of being close to your sigh
As this happens I have wings to fly

Oh, my dear feel my suffer
Which easily disappear when being together

A touch of your hand makes me a live again
Come closer, my love relieves my pain

In my heart I have your love and forever will exist
In a faithful mind and a sincere chest

Away from you, the rose will wither
Only for missing a loyal lover

When I feel you by my side
I forget my ego and pride

Together forever we will remain
To set an example of love that no words can explain

A heart which is full of captive emotions aspire to release
I only exist to cheer you up and please

I fell in love the very moment I saw you
You taught my hear how to blow

Don't leave me lonely so desperate
After the wonderful world you create

Every moment together in my heart I keep
That's the only harvest in my life to reap

Whenever you pass by my sight
My eyes keep holding you so tight

Stay in my life forever
Let's grow old together

Go ye Moon
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
My life is so bright
As I am enjoying the moonlight
For the moon every night I wait for
I know it will come up for sure
I can see my beloved in the moon face
With my eyes I hug and embrace
Can you imagine the sky without its moon?
It is like a nightingale that lost its tone
The moon is a witness of our love up in the sky
That makes our hearts flutter and fly
The moon sometimes appears and sometimes can disappear
After joy and happiness, life is full of fear
Go ye moon and ask her
My only love and dear
Why she let me in her love to fall
And before her I didn't know love at all
From my love stars and moon learn
To keep awake shinning and burn
If I can open my eyes for all
I will look at you and never blink at all
For your love I always long
To you my heart and soul they belong
Although your love sometimes gives me pain
Pains that I can't explain
I love the moon for your sake
I adore it and can never forsake
Go ye moon ask her if she loves me or not
Whom I love and to forget I can not
I will always be faithful and steadfast
As my love for you will always last
How I can the fear frame to destroy
And escape to your arms and my joy
Your love is carved in my heart and soul
Your face with the moon I always recall
Go ya moon and ask her
If she deserve all my care
If her love is really sheer
Why she is always far not near
Since I knew her, I knew what the meaning of pride
Since then I have affection and tenderness beside
There is something inside my heart
Tells me never go, never depart
If forget everything may I
Never forget your eye
I love you, I confess
Nothing will change my love more or less
Go ye moon and tell her
She owns my heartbeats and always has my care
I love you….I swear
You own every heartbeat I bear
Since I have known you, my heart began to blow
For sincere love and cure
I will always be your angel guard
From any difficult times or hard
You have changed my love my dear
I have known true love after pain and fear
Go ye moon and ask her
How all this love in my heart to bear
Oh my only love and true
You deserve a river of love to flow
When you leave me my heart cries
Waiting for your love and sighs
Every heartbeat for you I send
As your love has no limit, has no end
Don't leave me, never say bye
Don't let the moon leave its sky
Go ye moon and tell her
She of course deserves all my love and care

Lie of life
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Wisdom of life, nothing can last
Mostly love that fades so fast
Nothing can remain as it was
Specially love without any cause
We have hearts that cause pain
Without reason or explain
As life is just a big lie
We always look for someone to hurt and defy
People can't live without someone to cheat
Searching for someone to defeat
Hearts know nothing but how to wound
Only know how to break a bond
In cold blood, people always do
Using pure emotions and through
They are like wolves in masks of sheep
Having no real feelings, but so bad, so cheap
To live among people, you must be cunning
Make truth and kindness mean nothing
You should always suppose bad faith
Love and feelings have no place
To live among people you must valiantly act
Make betrayal your only fact
Life isn't an easy game
Lie is its real name
When you find someone to feel for
Finding this one feels for another much more
The one you want, you will never get
The one you want, have to leave and forget
The one you want loves another
The one you want have to forsake altogether
The one you don't want needs your adore
The one you don't want shows their love much more
To be lost in life- a wonder land
A moor of pains that you can't understand
Make reason first, feelings demolish
Reason remains, feelings perish
Always attack not to defend
Make your interest a means and an end
The life we live is a life of tricks
Just follow what your reasons picks
Make emotions the last thing you to think
Into dark sea make them sink
With or without love, live the same
Make your happiness the first claim
Love only who your love deserves
Your heart, her love, preserves
Always look at the bright side
Be always happy, make it your pride
Always think with your mind
And nothing but joy you will find
Don't ever love, but be loved
Always be the one to be hugged
To love never yield
But for love always build
Love will always exist
But always pick up the best
Don't wait to be loved forever
Days change hearts altogether
With love mountains hug the sky
With love we tear and cry
With love dews on flowers dwell
With love we destroy and ****
With love birds make a concert of tones
With love we have hearts made out of stones
With love, trees in the wind dance
With love we betray in the first chance
With love waters in rivers and streams flow
With love with hatred our hearts blow
Why from nature we don't learn
Instead of slaying feelings and burn
Why of love we are always afraid
Why from love our hearts fade
Why don't we make a love treaty?
Accompanied with adore and pity
Nature is full of contradictions
It is full of restrictions
People are good or bad
People are happy or sad
In order to reach its light
Darkness we have to fight
Happiness is not what we always take
We might meet true love or fake
Life is a mixture of black and white
Between good and evil everlasting fight
To meet what is true
Be away from what evil winds blow
If you want to be free
From contradictions never flee
Life is too short to waste in blame
Love and be loved, make it your aim
Being happy or sad it is the same
Make love your real name

Tale of creation!
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
There is a great myth, I once read
About early mankind, it was said
That was called tale of creation
Was narrated after Eve temptation
When man and woman were in the same body
When one dress was enough for both to embody
At that time man was predestined with only one wife
Throughout his whole life
He didn't have for a lover to look
All was in his lot, in his book
They loved each other by nature
And nothing could change this feature
Man and woman were forever together
Nohing could make their love wither
Not only one body, but also one soul
Doom and lot drag them and enthrall
They have their own life and happiness
And never knew solitude or loneliness
The soul was in love with the soul
Even before being created at all
They own everything, even the universe
Always together from birth to death
They had the land, not the sky
They could walk and swim, but not to fly
They heard about Gods' in the skies
Whoever stares up would lose their eyes
The sky means suffer and fear
Where Gods are cruel and unfair
In order to laugh and have fun
They sometimes removed the sun
Gods' hands were of good and evil
Sometimes hands of merciful and others of devil
There was a God of war
And other of love and adore
There was a God of hate
And a God for improving fate
Suddenly there was a fierce war among Gods
And turning people into bugs or even buds
They began to throw ***** of fire
They had their dream and a desire
Separating man away from his wife
Without caring about their life
People began to Gods pray
Despite being victims and prey
For stopping the irony of these conflicts
In turning people into insects
Nobody could hear or care
To stop that nightmare
Till Zeus participated in the game
And became "king of Gods" his name
Zeus easily stopped the war
But couldn't fix the violations happened before
Man and woman from now on are separating
Can't any more weld and became impossible their meeting
From now on man lost his own lover
And has to search for her forever
Rarely some succeed in finding her
Some fail although she is very near
People are cursed to hesitate
Can't make up their mind by fate
Man must walk everywhere and wander
To meet either success or surrender
Even if his lover is very near
He can't make sure and say "that's her" is this fair??

Hard to forget!
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Away from you, the world is just a vast jail
Whenever I wander about, I always fail

You taught me how to love and give
You taught me how to be kind and forgive

You have my heart, yet you deserve more
Eternal happiness with you I always hope for

Although these years I can't get
It is still so hard for me to forget

I always long for your love and care
As all the happy moments we always share

All these happy memories, remind me
You are the life without which I will never be

Away from you, away from happiness
Among different people but live in loneliness

Your love will never be past
Your love will ever last

Whenever the world becomes so hard and  cruel
Whenever I find your hug so warm and cool

When my love, all people ask for
Your love is still much more

Whenever the burden is too heavy to bear
You are the one who shows love and care

If you deserve something, you deserve the skies
Away from you my heart weeps and cries

Between your arms tenderness and affection settle
Love flows from your heart when it is so little

When I do wrong and you must hate
In your heart I find the happiest fate

You always look at me in a loving way
No words can describe my love or say

You are the first intimate friend of mine
You are the first kindness and loving sign

For me, you always supply and pray
In time when love begins to decay

Away from you, it is hard to survive
Away from you, I always suffer and strive

No words on earth can explain
How much love of you I gain

You always care for and put me first
You water my heart in time of thirst

Beside you happiness I first met
And happy moments I always get

That's why it is hard to forget

Forget? Not yet...
Walid Abdallah Jun 2018
Forget…?      Not yet.

I was a little kid one day
I knew nothing but how to play
Once we had a big house and a tree
The paradise I used to see
I was playing with other boys
Around the tree with different toys
I always had a dream in my head
To grow up, be bigger than a kid
I always had a wish
Never to know grief or anguish
Did I forget…..?
Never….not yet.

One day I had black hair
Satisfied with my parent's care
I knew nowhere but my parents' embrace
I knew that is our house and our place
I still remember my white kite
Flying over our house before my sight
Going to school with friends of my age
Once I was young … a little page
Once we had a full life of our own
Once we had our sun and moon
Did I forget…..?
Never ……not yet.

Suddenly I grew up a thousand years
With cries, grief and tears
It was the first time to hear about Zionist occupiers
Of our own life, they are defiers
Everything turned upside down one day
My black hair turned into grey
They destroyed our house and tree
Heard lots of desperate cries…Alas, it was me!
And showed up one Zionist
And said to me "Get out, terrorist"
Did I forget…….?
Never….,not yet.

My own parents, they brutally slew
Our house and tree, they fiercely up blew
I had no ability even to weep
As terror into my heart began to creep
Our own life, they have stolen
Our house and tree have fallen
Zionists shouted, "We came to take your land"
Your sky, desert and sand
They said, "Of our own land-get out
With guns' and tanks' shout
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

I began to walk away and run
Under flaming sky and weeping sun
They forced me to desert my land, what a vile!
In my own country, everlasting exile!
All houses, schools and mosques, they demolished
All our friends and relations, they perished
Under my feet I lost my way
In my country, I became astray
My parent slept in eternal peace
They took every comfort and left me no piece
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

I was looking for a place to settle
With no food and water was so little
A while passed and saw some kids like me
They ran away, they did nothing but to flee
We lived together
We were brother to brother
Recalling what happened before our eyes
And our cries reached the skies
Everyone, his story, told
With weather was so cold
Did I forget?
Never, not yet

We promised each other
To defend our country together
We would get back our land
Arm with arm and hand to hand
We are stronger with the power of faith
We have no fear to face
Together we would sweep them out
With our faith, without doubt
The day will come so soon
And get back our sun and moon
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Pain and torture they invent
With horror and deliberate intent
Every time they **** one of ours
The more we gain powers
One day they will definitely taste the same pain
That's what we keep in heart and brain
They make our streets full of bones
We are much stronger with stones
Keep demolishing houses more and more
We have more stones and they are our weapon and cure
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

As long as there is a drop of sweat
Our country will come back to us as we expect
As long as there is a drop of blood in our vein
Our struggle would never be in vain
We will achieve our own dream
We will cross every sea and stream
To see a green branch of leaves
Only when the last Zionist leaves
Our relations whose lives they sacrifice
In a procession direct to paradise
With prophets and martyrs they live together
An eternal life that would never wither
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

The land is ours and forever will remain
Despite all people, they **** and detain
On the land where Jesus Christ once put his feet
The same land will witness their defeat
Zionists plant sorrow  and envy
God is watching and destiny
We have God's right
With which dawn overcomes long night
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Al Aqsa weeps and calls
Its lobbies and halls
So many martyrs on its land, no matter
For the pigeon again to come and flutter
Despite all Zionists' crimes, the world turned the deaf ear
Our dream is getting closer, it is very near
For our country we come like water flow
Yearning for our clear sky and blue
We never surrender or agree
To be slaves after being free
Did we forget?
Never, not yet

Our waiting will never be so long
Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa to us they belong
We will get our right back
And put an end to the night so black
We will get our life again
And get our land every mount and plain
Al-Aqsa will open again to pray
And will never be an easy prey
Our kids will never be slaves
With freedom every new born behaves
Did we forget?
Never, never, never, not yet.

Ask Me
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
Ask me whatever you want, my dear

My heart will answer truly I swear

Ask me why God created the earth

Only to receive your happy birth

Ask me why God created the sun

Only to help you spread warmth, light and fun

Ask me why God created the moon in the sky its place

Only to lighten the universe sharing your face

Ask my Why God created the stars so bright

Only to be like your teeth when it is night

Ask me why God created me

Only to fall in your love as forever will be

Ask me why I love you

Only for the life into my veins you flow

Finding you
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
Finding you is getting my life again

Forgetting my sufferings and pain

You put me on the right way

After being lost, being astray

Now I love life for your sake

Forgetting all what is false or fake

You are the one I ever searched for

Because of you, I tasted the love I never knew before

When you need me
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
When you need me, just look up to the sky

You will see me with the stars so high

Watching you from any harm and protect

I am much nearer than you expect

Even if days separate us one day

I will find you, I will find some way

Don't think of tomorrow, It is still away

Any word of separation, never say

The day will come and unite us again

And catch our happiness and forget pain

Once
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
Once I had a heart, I had a lover

Promised each other to be in love forever

Once she was my sun and sky

I thought I will never weep or cry

Once she was all I own

Now I am desperately alone

Once she was my soul mate

Never imagined our separation by fate

Once she was the smile of my life

Now it is only suffering and strife

Once she was the candle in my night

Without her, I lost my sight

Once her love filled my veins

Now I only feel severe pains

Once she was my princess

Now I forget joy and happiness

Once I had a dream and aspiration

Now I only feel deep frustration

Once I was alive somewhere

Now I took all my sadness share

Everlasting Love
Walid Abdallah Feb 2014
For the eyes with which I can see

For the heart without which I will never be

For the love of my life as a whole

For my eyes, heart and soul

Although now I can't see her

She has all my love and care

She is the only cure for my pain

She is the love, I can't explain

Her love no words can ever express

She is the only one I always miss

Only for her- these lines - I dedicate

For the love determined only by fate

— The End —
