Times Gone By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
I remember summers of youth gone by long ago
When time seemed with no end
Pretty girls had such beautiful smiles and welcoming arms
If you were free and the only one meant to be
Butterflies danced on the evening sundown sky
But soon the winter of old age blew youth slowly away
And that my friend is the real and only truth
What ever happened to the many dreams that we had growing inside
Did they blow away like the colored leaves of last fall?
When September rain was coming down?
We kept looking around life's corner hoping to run into younger days
And make them come back
But it seems now that to go living our final days here is all
And everything a man or woman can do
Will we be able to see tomorrow or is today all that we've got
Nobody told us about sorrow waiting ahead
We have to carry  on with broken hearts instead
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Your love has given wings
Up above the blue  silver stars
Has this man believe this flight will carry me onward to Mars
Feeling that the impossible is easy and there's nothing I cannot do
Spinning among the planets all because of you
The very reason that I now sing
I want to love away all the lingering small fears
So glad that presence is here
And I'm no longer in life on my own
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
I admit that I'm losing my heart and mind over you
There is blindness now it came in like a storm with no warning
The only shelter is being close to you
There are times when men put up a front and try to act brave it's true
But I openly tell the whole world I'm losing my heart and mind
Over you, there is nothing more for me to do
But tell every body who will listen
I'm losing my heart and mind over you

I Love You By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
I love you in the summer or when winter winds call
Walking on city streets or even riding on two camels
Far across desert golden sands
Your love is my mentor and mine is yours
Loving each other in the future would be a great eternal reward
I love your presence if in London or the very next room
And if duty calls you away
My love will remain steadfast until  your returning day
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Gone is yesterday and all  the love that we both had inside
I see clearly now, taken away also was the chance to make you my bride
Sitting in this lonely beach house of glass
I'm feeling so very sad inside
And even though it took a hit from a once beautiful
But now lost love
This man will walk away with his pride
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Cradle me in the softness of your arms
Let our love be the tender shelter from the world's harm
For its in you that I place my sacred trust
As the future awaits before us
Please allow me to just say
Cradle me in the softness of your arms
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Others I thought looked but didn't really see
Until you looked inside and saw my every need
That's what one would call silent looking
I had been hurting for awhile
But your new love gently changed my life style
For all time to come keep silent looking

Scars By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Scars are map lines showing where you've been
And make you think about all the moments that have touched your life
But didn't end it. The fire still burns inside despite the pain
You can still see the light ahead of the future
Time will see that all of your needs are met
The power to change the world is your's
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Hold on to your love
While its still around for the sad and forlorn know for sure
That after awhile it cannot be found
Time's clock is ticking so fast and the love that 's belongs to you
Fight  and guard to make it last
Listen to me and let your love flow free
For love always meets its perfect melody

Move On By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Sadness will really show what you're made of
And should you be tired of something or someone in your life
You're not alone, everybody gets tired sometimes
But I'm telling you get up off your knees
Because you've got some believing to do
Light a fire of courage in your belly
Give your self another chance
Rise up and shake off shame's dust
Don't just sit there cry and mourn
Move on
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Your love is the sunlight pouring down on me
Pushing away the world's darkness
It's the future of my life
I'm investing my feelings in you
My sweet gift every every day
the one who keeps the blues from coming near
Keep on sharing that sunshine with me
I need that sunshine
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
When I'm weary from a long day of work
Your very presence is all I need
When I think to myself that I can't do it
Looking at you makes me know that I can succeed
When my bank nearly on low, I'm still rich indeed
because your love is there  to guide
You're the walking inspiration now beside me
Without you in my life
Really what could I do
Thank God for you
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Let all dreamers become doers
Divorce I can't and marry yes I can
Don't ever let defeat stop you
Nor derail new dreams or plans
Keep on fighting until in total victory you stand

Miss lee regrets She's unable to dine today
Sadly, miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today
She's so sorry to be delayed
But last night instead of going home , she strayed
Sadly, miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today
When she got up from her dream
Discovered her man had hit and run so it seemed
Sadly, she ran after him and treated him to his final day
And from her matching outfit
She fired that first bullet into his chest
Sadly, miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today
Than the cops came to put on the cuffs
Read her rights calmly with no muss or fuss
She served ten years right away
Used the long years of time to think and pray
And not long after her release miss lee did die
Few folks were at the graveside to even cry
Sadly,miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today

She's unable to dine today
Sadly , miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today
She's so sorry to be delayed
But last night
At lover's lane instead of being faithful , she strayed
Sadly, miss lee regrets
She's unable to dine today
When she got up from her dream
Discovered her man had tasted her sweetness and gone
Sadly, she ran after him
And made it his final earthly time to play
And from her chic matching outfit
She fired that first bullet into his chest

Grand Daddy introduced me to country music, when I was a tiny little
Thing and later on, both of would play our guitars side- by- side
And together folks would stop outside while passing by
Just to hear us sing.Somehow I strayed away from country music
While growing up, got into pop music funk and blues
And people I 'm raising my hand up high, because its the natural truth
But  I could't stay away to long, because  I  know now country music
Is in my roots

Don't give yourself to someone, who won't really care about
Your value or even your worth, who won't be home at night
Or work during the day, curse you out and  demean and treat you
Like dirt, your current bad condition, doesn't define who you really are
You may not be looking now, but an earthly prince will come and seek
You out, and treat you like the queen that you are
Love will prepare a place for you at the table
To dry each and every tear, when before misery hung your head in doubt
When at times low self- esteem threw upper cuts to knock
Your confidence out, when you grew dizzy from looking high low
Everywhere, love brought you out of the place
Of old dead memories, and you clearly heard its voice indeed
When love called you out
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
She was born Eunice Waymon, But changed into Nina Simone
This concert pianist who rode her subway dream of fame uptown
All the while singing in a deep blues voice: " birds flying high, you know How I feel, breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel, it's a new dawn
It's a new day, it's a new life for me, yeah, it's a new dawn, it's a new day
And I'm feeling good.Fish in the sea, you know how I feel, river running
Free, you know how I feel, blossom on the tree, you know how I feel
It's a new life for me, and I'm feeling good
" I love you porgy, don't let him take me. Don't let him handle me
And drive me mad. If you can keep me, I wanna stay here, with you
Forever, and I'll be glad

There's a deep secret in your eyes
I want to know
Are you guarded with the love inside
Or going to let it flow
Please tell me , before we get started ,Will I end up the one broken hearted
Will you say yes and tell me yet
Want to heat the flame again inside
And thinking about making you my bride
Need the unknown from you to pry
And long to hear the secret in your eyes

Sunrise By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
The sunrise of your smile
Lights my way
As I fight past the darkness of the world and escaping time
Inside my head- heartbeat thoughts of you live
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
PleaseSee me through the eyes of your heart
As you continue to fully believe in me ,  our heaven sent love
Will never depart, and  the world won't be able to break your believing
Or give our relationship a false or uncertain start, and if we both
Wake up tommorow and this dream is still here
I'll look into your dark eyes and still be pleased, years from now
Under skies of darkest blue, this man of yours will still be holding hands
And as time slowly takes our youth away, while traveling down the road
I'll sing one last song to you

Journey By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Let me your faith renew, I need you to clearly see, that its room for us
Both on this life's journey, so please put your hand in mine,
Let's build together a love so fine, one that will last for all time
It will truly be one divine
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Lofty ambitions are sometimes to high for some people to reach
Causing them to fall down between the cracks and into a spiral
Of defeat and failure, trapped within their own miserable existence
Making the best of it , tasting the bitter wine of defeat
In the cold sordid hours of minutes reaching  out, putting death holds
On strength reason, living in depression's grim prison
Thinking you were wed to it from the womb, until its loneliness
You cannot  confide in or trust, or even reason with

The Promise By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Nov 2015
Your love has given my life a lift
Making us strong together, and has nenewed my faith in human nature
I owe you many thanks for tuning into my feelings
As the days come and go , I look forward to looking at your face
Which is like a fine and rare painting, and I promise never to say goodbye
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
You're the dream that I've always dreamed of, and it must be true
If You pray and believe hard enough, they really do come true
I asked the question is love real, and you came as the answer that's
How I feel, people spend their whole lives , raising false hopes, and
When they're let down walk around with sad frowns, but  uncovered
You as the real deal, building up sweet things to be, let me say now that
I'm so happy with you as my dream
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I know that you need your space. Like I need mine, but need to have
You close and even near, while we yet have time
Your presence is a heavenly vision to me
The worst thing a man could ever do , would be to take your love
And sweetness for granted, because if that would happen
He might as well get off the planet, one true thing I can say
Your love has taught me how to connect the dots and your patience
With my sometimes foolishness, really means a lot, so teach me how
To give your soul deep inside a wow, I tenderly want it to happen now
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Now that you're leaving, I thought it was all a bad dream,
But it's a real fact, and should you decide to come back home here to me
I just want you to know right now , my darling girl, that's
A no crossing track, just have to stop my tears that are falling silently
Won't stop you from going out that door, if you really want to be free
And if life lets you know , it was all one big mistake, know that I
Prepared to move on, so don't come running back to me
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I feel my heart being so fast, need to be held close and kept warm
Don't have any hidden secrets to keep, just want to be held by your side
Until I drift off into deep sleep, never need to be warned
Just want to be cozy and ever so warm,so I'm asking very kindly
And so very sweet, please take me in out this storm
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I feel my heart being fast, need to be held close
And kept warm, don't have any hidden secrets to keep
Just want to be held by your side, until I drift off into sleep
My thoughts are pure, never need to be warned
Hard rain is falling down,  everyplace tonight
Just want to be cozy and ever so warm, so I'm asking very kindly
And sweet, please take in out of this storm
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Determine within yourself, to smile more, worry less
Let love and peace guide you away from the path of bigotry
That will slay the soul and mind, look to the lush green cornfields
Standing as silent guards in America, the blooming summer apples
The the rapid streams, with minnows swimming in clear creeks
Junebugs buzzing in sundown , butterflies floating in soft winds
Fireflies glowing as tiny  neon signs, outliving, outdoing, stonings
Beatings to the body , spirit, of being called "shine'' , '' ******'' , '' darky''
Which of themselves, are never unforgettable, ever hoping that a stain
will be left on white souls, so that one might be able to smile in autumn

Tick Tock By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Tick tock every living soul on earth is on life's clock
The minutes and hours are quickly dying, much needed time
Is passing away, days disappear, moments and seconds dear to life
Will soon be gone, but tomorrow will give birth to a brand new day
And another dawn

It Seems By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
It seems I've waited a whole lifetime
Just to love you, to hold out my arms and draw you near
Now that we have each other so faithfully , wedding rings sparkling
In the sunshine of future days ahead, I wish that we could spend
Eternity here, forever as one
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Why do we have to fight other people's battles,
When we have our own to face, we're here on earth to inspire and help
Each other, before we all leave this place, some day unlimited time
Given to you, won't really matter, death comes to steal both prayers
Hard work and dreams, and everything else time will shatter

Surf By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Come surf the sweet wave of dreams
Your love knocks me off of my feet, happy tears come flowing down
Like raindrops from the sky, my arms long to hold you close
Like a soft summer wind, and love is the only reason why
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Lord I know that you hear me praying
So please answer my why, there must be a real good reason
Beyond what my eyes can see, and I want to know the answer
Before I die, I long and need an answer to my question before I bid
This old world a final goodbye, so please let me hear the answer to
From you to my why
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Your love is just like fire , running through me
A warning sign to all others to stay away from me
Because I'm so into you, just want it to burn, flying in my mind
To long forgotten dreams, your love shapes and defines what's inside
Of me, taking me up to the next level, your soft touch gives me goosebumps, even if you didn't already love me
From a mountaintop I would be foolish enough to jump
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Your love is an open door of heavenly blessing
Sunshine lighting my dark way and I choose to love only you
As the years come to us, than pass slowly away
Nobody ever told me that loving someone tenderly
Could ever make me feel this good, and I choose willingly to love you
For all the rest of my nights and days, your hand reaching out in welcome
Changed my very life in so many ways
And I choose to love only you , as  in song I lift my voice
I choose to love only you , its my own personal choice
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Your life, like a framed picture, can be dropped, and broken into
Many pieces, sometimes shattered, beyond repair my friend
And you think inside, that the pain will never end, often its not possible
To outrun the past, because it keeps you company, day and night,
Never allowing you to forget it, or ever win
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I can't count on tomorrow,I can only live for my today
Night and day seem wedded together, since you left and went away
I go down by the bedside, with folded hands and pray, remembering
When sorrow moved in, it was on a day of hard rain
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
She wore a white wedding gown, but any fool could plainly see
The groom about to make her a wife, should have been me
What turned us away from each other, I can't seem to recall, but I missed
Out on marrying the girl of my youth, and the pain to this day
Hurts worst of all, so if you have someone special, and want to get down
On bended knee, listen to this old boy's plea, be sure with all of your
Might that you really love her, with all of your heart and soul
Look what happened to me
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Colored leaves of fall, come down on the square,  lovers seem to be
E verywhere, I want to show you some tender care, just whisper my name
Just whisper my name on the phone, and i'll be there, I'll be the friend to protect you, never treat you mean or disrespect you, just know that all times, i'll be there, waiting patiently when all others , have turned away
And gone, my love will be the anchor, that keeps you hanging on
Just whisper my name, on the phone, and i'll be right there
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Our love is a song to remember, one that will be recalled, down through
The years of time, a symphony tenderly played, on the piano keys of life
Much like a stirring, Chopan composition, unforgettable to both the heart
And mind, to rest peacefully forever, within our mortal souls
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I still see your face, even in my dreams, some things never change
So it seems, it was christmas each day, when you were here with me
Now I'm talking in my sleep, could it be that my wedding ring, on
That left finger, hurt your sense of pride, or else why aren't you here
Now,by my  forever, by my side, tears I can no longer hide,
Sweet memory, now gone, they were the best days, of my life

Mirror By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
When you're looking in the mirror, tell me, who and what do you see
Is the image of one who is crooked, or as honest as can be, soul and
Conscience die and are washed away, when you cheat others and lie,
And when you close your eyes, and try to sleep at night, peace won't
Give your mind a try,you can't point your finger or talk , about somebody
Else's life,if your own isn't right, learn to respect yourself and others
If its day or night

Last Words By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
I am not yet ready,to taste of death, nor smell its foul, and rancid breath
Slowly stripping the very life, from my human bones, yet know inside
That each man, born on this earth, must die alone, i know not the one
Who penned,''It's not the length of the life, but how well it was lived''
Time may not place  or number me, among the immortals, but  i carry
The knowledge within, that in all of my living days, i gave , and sought
Out love, in this crowded space
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Sometimes, in a loving relationship, there must be two on board
If one wants to jump out of the bat, than pain is the only reward
It takes two , to make the thing work, one can't be slipping around
In the dark, doing dirt, be of a made up mind, to cherish each other
From nine to five, please don't be selfish , just thinking about yourself
Because your once true love, will soon start looking around and reaching
For somebody else, it takes two people, to keep love real and true

Pretending By Victor Tripp
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Pretending, to me has become so real and dear, i pretend even though
You're no longer here, wearing  a false face smile, for all to see
A clown in the mirror to be,naturally,I tell myself to be honest and
Even try, but when nobody's looking, tears flow from my eyes
Its gotten so, each day of life, my lying is done, so skillfully, lost your
Love ,so very long ago, the love has sailed, on by, and cannot get you
To hear this earnest plea, with my head in my hands,o woe is me

ool everyone both near and far, a clown mask to be,i tell myself to
Victor Tripp Oct 2015
Reach out a helping hand,if you see someone down, be sure to help him
Stand, he might for the moment, have lost the way, everybody needs
Somebody  to help them stand, there is darkness of hard times reaching
Out for us all, you can be a helping light, while passing along
Love and help people, of all colors, with all of your might, young or old
We all need some comfort, in this spinning fast old world, it doesn't
Matter if you're black or white, man or woman, little boy or girl
Sad  tears fall from everyone behind closed doors, you might be the one
That misery is looking for, or even the one to someone's whispered
Prayer, cried out in hopes, that someone will come and really care
