When trouble has me swimming in its swift waters it seems like forever
Why is it that I don't see a boat or helping hand coming from my friends
Who stand on the shore? People pretend to be happy for your success
But inside, are all for themselves,wanting really you to ignore, this I've

Waters  wildly waving to all my friends on shore

Darkness steps aside as light of dawn appears, silence rests upon the land
People sleep before awakening to day's stark reality rising like edifices
Higher and higher, changing both days and times before them
New year of discovery blessing trial testing, unstoppable in gaining
Territory , ever believing that they're more for us than they.re against us
Posture of belief sustaining in times of doubt and fears,causing an impact
To be known around the world

You can't keep the truth from me , maybe you might want to shut out
Its voice, but it will find a way to be free, and it speaks despite the lies
Spilling from your mouth, get to know it , for it will really set its
Owner loose .Truth's cry can be heard through out the earth,to
All those with listening ears and willing spirits

It could have been me, lying in a narrow alley with a drug needle
Sticking in a vein,or white powder up my nose. It could have been me,
Wandering the dark streets talking to myself jn madness, always
Thinking there was no way out, but your love stayed in my corner
Knocking out all fears and doubts, love was in my corner tending to keep me strong, flashing light of inspiration saying don't stop now or do any
Harm or wrong, my soul says yes I can make it, with each trial and testing
I can take it because love is in my corner

Love can be intoxicating as a rose, but than again, a rose has thorns
Everybody knows,they can sooth inspite of the pain break you and
