Lynn Stillman Jun 23
911
A 911 call
Victim is so blue
Bleeding from the heart
Died while enroute to reconciliation
Buried in a deep and painful longing
Lynn Stillman Jun 28
A beautiful day
is on the way
The flowers
get a gentle spray
The bees are happy
as can be
The geese fly over
in a vee.
The sun shines down
in beaming rays
As it does on most
lovely days
Traffic on the road
is in a bustle
As people get to work
in a hustle.
Lynn Stillman Jun 29
He took his belt off
The child is afraid and torn
between love and hate.
I can't say enough,
about your new lease on life.
Rents space in my head
Lynn Stillman Jul 11
The years run and leap
Age fights, but in it does creep
Youth, hold on and keep
Lynn Stillman Jun 20
A lifetime I've spent
Fearing people and places
My home, deep in me
Lynn Stillman Jul 17
Once rushed in the house,
with a pig under my arm.
Didn't read the room.
Lynn Stillman Jul 16
I am light hearted
Didn't used to be that way
Till I realized you are my savior
Then fell to my knees to pray
I was lost in life
Didn't know which way to turn
Mistreated by those I trusted
My soul then left to burn
Then one day I realized
That you would never harm me
That is what opened my eyes
That's what set me free
I needed to love myself
In the way a parent would
Learn to live with my shortcomings
And embrace all that is good
I thank you God every day
For forgiving all my sin
For showing me I'm loved
Thank you God, love Lynn

There once was a man from Greece
Whose flock of sheep he did fleece
The wool he sold
The sheep were cold
Their sweaters knitted by his niece
Lynn Stillman Jul 15
Though I'm a loner
I'm never really alone
I still have myself
You sing life alone.
Sometimes solos are needed,
to round out the choir.
Lynn Stillman Jul 13
"I'll love you always".
These words are solid as a rock
They're written in stone.
Lynn Stillman Jun 30
You're ambivalent
Your mouth says you don't want me
Your eyes say I'm loved.
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
Your names in the clouds
Written there by an angel
Hoped she'd get her wings.
Lynn Stillman Jun 27
J bottle things up
Until I can breathe no more
Then the cork is blown.
Lynn Stillman Jun 21
Hyena says to a Lion,
"Your ego is way too much",
Lion says,"nah, it's my pride".
As the world goes by.
I'm asking for one more try.
To capture the sky.
Lynn Stillman Jun 22
That's just how it goes
Sorry it's not in the cards
Can't fight city hall
My resolve even greater
After getting these answers.
Lynn Stillman Jul 20
So now here we stand.
Face to face but miles apart.
Speaking in cliches.
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
Roses they are red
Violets pretty and blue
Why did I start this poem
Hell,  I haven't got a clue
Lynn Stillman Jul 20
I won't fight with you.
Won't sink down to your level.
You just sling the mud.
Art
Art
If I held the brush,
I'd paint you into my life.
A great masterpiece.
You go off subject
Attack me personally,
someone needs a nap.
I am quite smitten.
Humbled by your attention.
Just thought I'd mention.
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
Thought I'd slam the door
So you'd stop ignoring me,
You didn't notice.
I'd split the atom,
to get you to notice me.
Or just climb a tree.
Took a step forward
To improve my attitude
But it's my bad leg.
Lynn Stillman Jul 22
We are opposites.
And we sing different songs.
But in the same key.
Lynn Stillman Jul 16
Why do people,
give to you a compliment,
take back with next breath
Lynn Stillman Jun 29
I was never lost
Just waiting to be found
Baggage and all.
Lynn Stillman Jul 13
On a roll today.
But then probably halfway.
Wall got in the way.
Lynn Stillman Jul 19
Can't pick my battles,
but can choose my fighting style.
Strategy my own.
Flat Frisbees in flight
Beach blankets bundled by boys
Love letters litter
In shallow water
Little fish nip at my toes
We bathe in the sun
Beach sand in my bathing suit
We have hot dogs on a bun
Lynn Stillman Jul 18
You are a beacon.
Helping me to find my way.
You are my mainstay.
Lynn Stillman Jun 23
Beauty walks away
It really enjoyed its stay
Face now a new day.
Lynn Stillman Jul 20
Which should I believe.
God decides who lives or dies.
Or it's in fate's hands.
Lynn Stillman Jun 23
I believe In love
and in a higher power
Don't believe in me.
My beloved one
Painted your face on the sun
Moon reflects in bronze.
I smell strange perfume.
Lipstick on your collared shirt.
I am left to fume.
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
Better days ahead
Troubles a second language
I'm not fluent in.
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
If the birds could speak
They'd talk about life and times
How they're free to be
Lynn Stillman Jul 14
I sometimes wonder
Do birds ever get depressed,
as they fly so free?
They can't laugh at funny jokes.
Their kids fly away too soon.
Lynn Stillman Jun 21
Son asks black widow
"Mom, how did my father die"?
Black widow just sighs.
Lynn Stillman Jul 18
I should know by now.
I cry, you walk out the door,
and I'm left to blame.
Falling for you
Torn and vulnerable,
the reasons I'm blue.
Lynn Stillman Jul 18
How to beat the blues
Round them up with cattle ****,
let the beatings start.
Behind sunglasses,
your soul is incognito.
Your intentions blurred.
Lynn Stillman Jul 14
Photographs of me.
My reflection in mirrors.
Isn't what I see.
We've nothing to hide.
An open book to skim through.
We're a novel pair.
You're the bookmarked chapters.
Illustrated by loves hand.
