This is our world-
Yours and mine.
We call it home.
It's not perfect ;
It has flaws .
True, we can't make it perfect .
But with a little bit of kindness ,
and a little bit of love
we can always make it better .

Only if we try-
Let us try.

Life gave me
everything I needed
but took away
the one I wanted the most.

I never understood life.

Well, who cares –

Life never understood me either.

Life is given to us,
it will be taken away.
When and how,
we won't know-
till it is our time.

A disease or disaster,

road rage or domestic violence,

war or Mother Nature's fury,  

                     or maybe
                    
                       just love.

If you have a broken heart,

you try to collect the pieces

and fix them together,

hoping it will heal someday,

hoping you will find yourself again.

But

when the hammer of hate

crushes your heart like a rock,

turning it into grains of sand,

and the wind of mistrust

scatters it all around—

how do you collect yourself?

How can you try and fix yourself?

Can you ever be whole again?

Give life a chance,
Live a little longer.
Life is a gift,
Share it with the ones you love.
Hold a trusted hand,
The road of life will be smoother again.
Leave all your sadness behind,
Step into a beautiful new world.
Set your aching heart free,
Love will come in like a cool breeze.

Like a bus stop,
my heart was
to you.

You came,
stayed briefly,
then left -

like it was nothing,
as if it were
made of concrete.

When the river of love

dries up

heart turns into desert

without any oasis in sight.

Like a dream
you came to my life.
Your eyes sparkled like stars
in the dazzling sunlight
as you looked at me.
Your smile, ever so gentle-
Oh, how you smiled at me.
That was the moment
love touched me.

Not all rivers
end up in the ocean–
doesn't make their journey
less worthy.

Not all love
ends up in a lover's arms–
doesn't make it any less
worthy.

Emotions buried deep
within the heart,
like molten magma.

When the heart
can’t hold anymore,
it erupts —
like a volcano.

Poetry starts flowing,
unstoppable,
like rivers of lava.

I thought I was tough,
could keep love away,
never asked for it anyway —

but still it entered my heart.

For like water,
though love is soft and gentle,
yet carves its way
through the hardest rocks,
and arrives uninvited.

Little by little ,
I fell in love .
A gentle smile,
every once in a while.
I fell in love .
A few words of wisdom,
Whenever I felt lost.
I fell in love .
A  little help ,
Every time I needed.
I fell in love with you.
With each passing day,
I love you a little more...

I searched everywhere.

Couldn't find anywhere.

Nowhere to be found.

I am lost.

What was once a beautiful bond
is now broken.
What's left is a shattered heart.
Anxiety fills my thoughts all day,
keeps me awake all night.
Once a beautiful dream
now turned to a nightmare.

I look for peace
nowhere to be found.
How do I mend
the broken bond?
Everything feels so lost -
waiting for a ray of hope.

If it's love,
It will hurt.

If it hurts,
You know it's love.

O' love....your name I hear everywhere
What are you?...I  asked.
A voice came from within the depth of my heart
Love is.....it said
"When the world is lying at your feet
Yet, you don't care to look
For you can't take off your eyes
from that one face. "
O' how truly beautiful love is...said I.
Come...come...love
Come to my heart
For I too wish to feel your touch
Dear sweet love.

Love is not a poem
written on paper
that someone can tear
and throw away.

It is a spark that
once it touches
the heart,

it keeps burning
in the heart
for the entire lifetime.

Sometimes it appears
on the lips
as a smile

and

sometimes it appears
from the eyes
as tears.

Love isn't geometry
There's no need to prove it

Love is only a feeling
You can feel it

in every little gesture.
in every little deed.

in a smile.
in the eyes.

It was my love
that gave you
the power to
hurt me.

Love enters the heart gently ,
Like a gentle breeze.
It touches the heart softly,
Like soft drops of rain .

But when love leaves ,
It brings a thunderstorm,
Shattering the heart into pieces.

Once I stumbled upon
a stream of love,
wondering where it was coming from
I  went searching.

There it was,
lying around...
a broken heart.

You are lucky
if you still have hope
for the return of your love.

To still have the dream
of holding each other's hands
in the sunset of your life.

Not everyone is so lucky
for some, love always remains
a distant dream.
No hope to hold on to,
no one to wait for.

Just empty life
to live on.

If I had the Magic lamp,
I  would wish for bullets of love
To **** all the hatred from people's hearts
And for bullets of kindness
To **** all the jealousy from people's minds
And then I would set the Genie free.

Don't shed tears,
Over my dead body.
I am no longer in there.

I feel more alive .

My life was
an open book.
You just forgot
to read a few chapters.

I wished to visit

the Louvre

to see the Mona Lisa painting.

So, I decided

to book a trip to Paris.

Then a thought

crossed my mind:

Is the real Mona Lisa

on display?

The heart said yes,

the mind said no.

It is far too precious

to be out in the open.

The real one must be

kept hidden safely

in some secure,

secret vault.

So, I decided instead

to book a trip to Agra—

to see my favorite Taj Mahal.

At least I know

it’s the real one.

Monsoon brings in rain,

farmers rejoice in delight,

awaits good harvest.

A beautiful quiet night,
the moon was shining bright,
stars twinkling all around
in a cloudless sky.

Moonlight fell upon your face,
it too began to shine—
like the brightest of stars.

I stared at your moonlit face all night,
from afar,
wishing someday you might be mine.

Though I know all too well
your heart longs for another,
I will not stand in your way of love.

Yet I will keep on loving you,
for my heart
will always belong to you.

Every morning I wake up
feeling a void in my heart.  
I stare at the friendly knife,
wishing to soak it
in my pool of blood.

When happy,
she heals
with her beauty.

When angry,
she kills
with her fury.

I never needed you.  

I only wanted you.

Loving you

was not my fault –

telling you was.

I started my journey alone,
into the unknown.
Alone I may be,
but not lonely,
for my dreams are with me,
to keep me company.
I don't know where my destination is
it is the journey, that is my goal.

Strange but true,
I fell in love with you.

Yet I gave you my heart.
For I saw your heart,
Full of love.
You went out of my life,
But can you leave my heart?

I am still in search of my place

Everything works fine at the start
then it falls apart .

So I move on ,

Do I really belong here?

I have started again
now I am afraid to stop and ask
once more :
Is this the place where I belong?

After all, I am only a speck of dust
amongst the galaxy of stars.

I went on a quest,
in search of the most beautiful place on earth.
I saw beauty all around .
But what I went searching for ,
I  found it right here .
It is the heart,
for, heart is the sacred place where
the flower called love blooms.

Mysterious are the ways
how the universe works.
People we see everyday
remains strangers all through our lives.
And yet someone living in a distant land
touches our heart in such a way,
It turns our whole life upside down.
They don't belong to us
still becomes a part of us.

This is my story .
How I came to be .
Lying unconscious,
In my death bed
Waiting for the inevitable
Alas! I came back to life
Woke up all alone
Sad and lonely
No one to care or love
Thought dying would have been better
Was fascinated by the world of Art
Drawn towards Monet, in particular
Started to dream,
To paint like him
Soon to realize
It was a dream, too far out of reach
Felt lost again
Wondering , to which world do I belong
So I took to writing
And this is how I came to be.
