i really love you
i don't know how to say it
so here goes:

if we went to the moon
we'd splash down over the mariana's trench

we'd sink straight to the bottom
and somehow float to the top

the thousands of miles
to that greyish white rock

but somehow the 7 miles down compares

if we were a castle
we wouldn't be a french one

the stone fortresses of ireland
are much more our style

northerners don't belong
on the southern grounds

so we continue on through the night
and dip our toes into the end of the world

the rio grande may twist through siberia
but somewhere in there is our oasis

and all the miles we travel are the love i have for you

chamber your punch
maybe i'm violent
but that's where all the power comes from

hesitate a moment
clear your eyes
see what you are capable of

nobody notices
a split second clarity
it's where you are yourself

so linger a moment
look at your hands
and see what they can do

listen to the moment stretch
like falling into a fractal
an eternity nobody sees

silence your mind
still your heart
and see the expanse in front of you

cut through the stillness
deafen the silence
and get for yourself what you deserve

how did you feel?
the day you heard.
did it come through the receiver?

words are weapons
how deep they pierce you
but this time the exit wound was cleaner

in the moment
your stomach, it twists
all of you feels engulfed by fire

on the wrong end
of that fateful last call
only wanting to joke that they're a liar

grasping at straws
thinking you're wrong?
you try to continue like nothing happened

the excuses and trajectories
they doom us all
masked by self deprecation and well wishes

give it a few days
it'll burn to the ground
and you'll have to turn to face the flame

from fire and wrecks
earth and the Pacific
turn back around and walk away

you're safe now
you can't be touched here
and after all that you're stronger than you think
