Time to get some sleep now
so I can dream about what I
need to get done

Of your own free will,
you release chords beyond your
throat, angering a lashing tongue
that starts fires

Of your own free will,
you travel a great distance from
where your vocals carry north,
but echoing desires,
travel south of envy

Of your own free will,
you blacklist the frail,
bury your mistakes in haste
and pave over them, with greed

Your free will isn't free at all,
it has a cost

Suspend me from a hook
to dangle
face down
for
I am ashamed,
no longer able to
stand on my
own

Looking on to listen,
offer nothing to support
except my
dust,
in place of hollowed
bone

This trail of breadcrumbs
has lead me astray,
lost,
from myself
wandering thru the deep woods
every creature, a threat
every song, a howl
Soil too coarse to walk upon
A reservoir of dehydration

Thirsty, hungry, tired
stank of regret
Tangled in vines like wire, sharp as tacks, stifling as fear

I've played against your game,
tried to hide
my hide
up inside
the manikin
your bullet created
entrapped, secured and stuffed
full of your filthy thoughts
NOW,
pose her in a life like position,
trophy mount her
Display her as you wish
She's no longer mine...

me to sleep

Night is thick with unrest
Sleeps with eyes open
Pillow stuffed with worries
Never losing consciousness
The poke of the pea
jabbing into dawn
Mattress full of sorries
Void of blankets
Warmth no more

I'm letting you

though you are the
sin
giving meaning
to
weak is my
flesh
the way the lonely
intermesh

Hello,
Excuse me, but, uh
you're living my life
I didn't even know
I had it in me
but now that you are here
it is so very clear
I now know who I will strive

pampered

Fall

My cousin was a raindrop
falling from the sky
She didn't know her
destiny was to
be born
to drop
to die

Her mother was a bullet of hail
born into a storm
She didn't know her
destiny was to
be cold
to punish
to harm

His light,
so warm,
so bright,
took the weight
off of my
heavy heart

Spend hours and hours
positioning words
the family heckles
they think it's absurd

Speak to me, with only,
your eyes...

Let me get lost in your gaze

The way you stare at me
defines a me,
I am not aware of

A version that I cannot see

Let the heat between us
simmer away all reason

So I don't come up with a reason
to end you seeing me

The way I always want to be seen
from now on

Like a falling star
you fell out of the sky
you hit the ground
but kept on falling,

have I dug you up?
Lent you a helping hand?
Now you've pulled me in with you

Rolling in the mud

Following behind a
trail of fallen stars
within our shrinking
hemisphere

If you
spot me
pulled over
on the side of the road
drafting on the dashboard,
(possibly writing this very piece)
inside the comforts of my office,
(my 20 year old jalopy),
kindly be patient.
For I am aging out
of my own
cerebrum
as well....

My heart can only
feel his pain
as he cries out in silence
drawing
me close
with sketches

He flicks his hand across the paper
pretending to erase,
cleverly removing me
from his field of vision

Mother and son connection
a generous gift
though, even a white lie is too rich in color to keep hidden

Breaking into his creations
The flood gates open
Here come the long lost tears
