in your fantastic,
exaggerated, colorful life,
attracted me

Your white lies drained me

Don't hide for too long,
you'll only be
lonely,
longer,
paler,
grayer
They don't make it easy,
the struggle,
I am grateful

Generating the the speed it takes
to tolerate a new, uncharted atmosphere

Orbiting beliefs that challenge human nature and jettison doubt

A window, proviso allowing the
trajectory of deception to offset our ingenuity upon re-entry

Some left to dwell in the
darkness of space

Prayers unanswered

Not sure why
I choose to stroll
on rolling hills of
GREEN 💚

Maybe something to do
with the
synthesis of the
  SOUL

Responsibilities lurk
just to the right of
the rusty swing,

the one that used to squeak
more obnoxiously,
with every pump

creating a tempo
to ride to the sky by

flip flops in flight,
tips of toes
touching the clouds

Tossing heads, teasing wind's
backward arch
shadowing a wave of nausea  

swirling hair caught
in the sides of silly grins

Dreaming of
the next destination

the in betweening
of take-off and descent

Sweaty palms
clinging tightly to
gentle, non-binding chains

On second thought,
"time to let go"
