It was not the dark storm that scared her off
The fury of that storm was not fearsome enough
She walked with firm, heavy steps towards her fate
Knowing it could be the desired ending that came late

It was the gentle sunlight, emerging from the heavens
The beauty in that light protested against the darkness
She saw an undesirable hope, heavenly yet painful
Declaring a new beginning that was truly fearful
He walked in to that quite and deserted place
Giving an amazing smile and a happy tone in his voice
To awaken what was dead and taken away
He looked for something worthwhile to steal away
Precious enough to dazzle a thief's eyes
To perceive the emptiness and what it implies
Leaving the place to what it had and the way it was
In the moments of numbness, sadness, and loneliness
You visit my mind like a pleasant guest with a gift
And you don't leave until you steal a smile
From my mouth that was begging for some happiness.
