sunshine on the wall makes me smile
even in winter it fights against the oncoming storms
a little piece of joy
a lot like good health
not appreciated enough
our lives are filled with contradictions which is how it should be
it is harder to discover the true meaning if all feelings are known
but just to experience that fleeting moment of brightness
I know there is hope

Broken apparition
Misty sun
Revealing emptiness

break free from the burden of society

true life is outside the scope of rules

Thought I knew the plan
Passing 50
Still felt like a boy living as a man

It's just a number
Until the mirror laughs at me
I think I'll sleep at 70
See what the next life will be

It never fails to excite
The darkness prevails

The complexity of humanity can be found in the convenience store

The regulars, not looking to change the daily habits

The passing trade, hoping for a one stop

The lonely, finding a point of contact that may be the only one
                    not buying anything in particular but happy to advise

The cashier
                    overseeing all with power
                    never participating wholly in the dramas that unfold

But looking forward to the end of the day when the door closes

the gravity of the city
pressing down on faded worlds
casting them into memory
all is replaced

The streets are uneasy at this time
When the twilight separates the day
Party goers , lonely wanderers, the disturbed
And yet
As the darkness fades
All takes on a new perspective

The real disappears and the routine begins once more
Uniformed of mind take their places in the daily experience  
Isolated beings for the sake of repetition and familiarity
Weak every day through the months and years

All stops

Those in the shadows prefer the unknown and unexpected
The challenge of survival without a  fragile safety net
For it all ends for all
How we reach that point depends on our perception of a life lived

But descend into madness
