too many distractions like colours in a peacocks tail
lead me from seeing the real thing
camouflage is only skin deep

how deep does the skin need to be to prevent drowning in hurt

life is unique for everyone
let's not interfere because it makes us feel right
let's just accept and stop trying to change and rearrange  
complexities
that we will probably never fully understand

sunshine on the wall makes me smile
even in winter it fights against the oncoming storms
a little piece of joy
a lot like good health
not appreciated enough
our lives are filled with contradictions which is how it should be
it is harder to discover the true meaning if all feelings are known
but just to experience that fleeting moment of brightness
I know there is hope

I remember a time when you had to go look for information
now it is inescapable
we are overloaded to a point of no return
short-circuited into believing all is lost
unsure how to fit in
to be accepted
driven by things outwith
unable to speak for fear of being shut down

STOP
CEASE
DESIST

switch off
breathe
relax
look at the world that is yours
deal with only what you can effect
live again

by the morning my dreams had receded to reveal nothing
awake
back to reality
knowing all will repeat
even if I don't

truth is in the heart
