A really big-*** asteroid
whizzed by us pretty close
came within a million miles
of turning us to toast

Journey of one million miles
Can't get there by car
But if you count by astro-miles
That ain't so very far.

Two-thirds of a mile in size
was that big hunk of rock
enough to turn old New York City
Into a parking lot

So let us all be very glad
It's sailed on out in space
And if the **** thing finally hits
it's in some other place

But there're much bigger rocks out there
Mere thought gives me the jitters
If one of them slams in to us
We'll all be crispy critters.

The Democrats have won by ways
they, only, could contrive
By votes from folks not citizens
From others not alive

They used machines that flipped the votes
from Trump's to Biden's side
Our watchers stuck a mile away
So perfidy could hide

The gleeful media proclaim
He's won and now should serve
Considering that he stole thing
They have a lot of nerve

But millions won't buy this line
From those who lie and cheat
They're throwing safety to the winds
and taking to the street.

Whereupon they are attacked
By fascists of the left
While hapless cops stand paralyzed
'cause leadership's bereft

Overseas, our foes rejoice
And gather their warheads
As clueless Joe and Kamala
Seek racists under beds

Don't know how all of this will end
My hopes are not too high
Unless we get a miracle
America will die.

Sun is beaming, outdoors' steaming
I have to stay aloof
Can't work outside; must stay inside
My heart's not weatherproof

Good plants wilt low; that's status quo
in this hot time of year
'less water's 'round to soak the ground
They'll up and disappear

But stuff inflates and proliferates
that HAS no liquid needs
those beds of clover taking over
those ******* shrubs and weeds

I'd wage a war; they'd learn the score
I'd see their kind decreases
I'd take my clips and trusty snips
and mince them up in pieces

But if I go out, the heat will shout
I'll wind up in my bed
My heart will flutter, race, then sputter
I'll likely wind up dead.

So, I must wait till temps abate
And I am feeling well
Then I'll go out without a doubt
And chop them all to hell

It’s Mothers’ Day; and we all share

A “Thank You!” for the love and care

You’ve given us throughout the years

Mere thought of that brings me to tears

Without your love, where would we be?

That love hydrates our family tree

Warm tears flow through my loving wishes

And tomorrow, you can do the dishes.

Covid-19 is coming for you
I hope it will miss and pass right on through
It's terrible stuff, a real stranglehold
And seriously deadly, when you are old

The ballgame is over if it hits me
and expunges my branch of the family tree.
Thought about moldering under the ground
Pepper my thoughts when I sit around

But I fear something worse, than Death's open door
and checking on out of this life evermore
That passing would be, an absolute caper
Compared the news, that there's no toilet paper

We killed the cougars and the wolves
But not the little dears on hooves
So when the carnivores were pruned
    The quantities of deer ballooned

Deer eat the shrubs and the tomatoes
    squashes, peppers and potatoes
    Ravage flowers even faster
They are such a big disaster

Yes, we tell kids they are cute
and much too cuddly to shoot
But we should quit this namby-pamby
and take an elephant gun to Bambi

Tried to change my cellphone plan
to cut my monthly fee
but complexities of doing that
were a mystery to me

Codes passwords and sim cards
I didn't have a prayer
It was well beyond my reach
glad my daughter's there

She deciphered in a moment
What totally baffled me
I wish that things were back the way
they were in '63

Completing even simple chores
is now a major feat
I may as well get used to it
Folks,I am obsolete.
