Moonlight on the wall
Dancing creatures all around
Scared of my shadow

Need to fly away
High above the barren trees
Leaving not a trace

So quiet the night
My thoughts dance in the rhythm
Making my head spin

You could not bother
Just to say it all out loud
So you wrote it down

Can't express in words
What I know I want to say
Thus begins my poem

It's peaceful outside
Snow has landed on the ground
Whiteness everywhere

Silence surrounds me
Words are drumming through my mind
Just to break the spell

Cold winter colors
Grays and whites
Marshmallow pinks
All frozen in time

Outside connection
Where like minds and hearts connect

Oh the things
That we shared
Toys to play with
And fight over
Games to play
Win or lose
Tops and sweaters
A tear or two
Tissues for blowing
Straight from the box
Tickets to movies
Listening to songs
Sharing stories
From books
And friends
Writing letters
Sharing news
Hellos and goodbyes
Somehow knowing
Nothing could end

Morning has come
Hot tea
Milk No sugar
Afternoon following
Chai tea
Warm milk No sugar
Evening comes
Mint tea
Warm milk No sugar

Darkness is coming
Pull the cord and shut the blinds
Let the moon dance through

Saw the moon
In several phases
Full and bright
Up in the sky
Casting shadows
On snowy ground
Peek a booing
Between purple cloud
Appearing with glimmer of light
Got me to thinking
My phases are
Like the moon
Nights full of hope
With dreams ahead
Of a new tomorrow
To share with
Our world
Thoughts peek a booing

Getting caught in

Dog ate my poem
Or could it be bad gateway

For those who grab
A tissue from
A box
Handkerchief from
Sagging pants
Gum in crinkled wrapping
Hot chocolate steaming
In paper cup
An ear to listen
When no words
To speak
Just a knowing
Presence
All is well
All is well

Fall  is all around
Brilliant Oranges and yellows
And shh mum's the word

Not served for desert
And sometimes hard to
swallow
Slice of humble pie

I write when I'm sad
Just chasing my blues away
Waiting for the sun

Breeze whistling through
My sleeves
Sending chills up
My spine
Bringing a warm
Smile
Upon my face
Transporting me to
A time
Not too long ago
Where leaves of
Golden color
Gaily spun in
A whirlwind of
Flashy clothing
Leaving behind
An aroma of
Woody smoke
And a reminder
For some
Apple cider tea

Fall is drawing near
Oranges and bronze appearing
Time again for change

When I feel lonely
The moonsomehow
lights my way
The sun trades places

Evening is winding down
Hues of pale blue
Beginning to turn
Dark blueberry jam
In the evening sky
Birds are starting
To head home
Looking for comfort
In their warm nest
Children coming inside
Ready or not
For a warm bath
Last minute bedtime
Stories being told
Prayers said lights dimmed
Goodnight kisses
Well wishes
Now I lay me
Down to sleep

A little boy
Runs to
I run  from

Such a lovely
Peaceful time
The sun waking
From night's travel
Birds singing
Morning's song
Squirrels scampering
About
Fresh smells of
Neighbors breakfast
Time to grab paper
And pen
And write

Oh how a child
Can teach us
To grow up

How precious the sound
The laughter of a child
Just enjoying Life

Seasons of the moon
How I stare at you
in awe
Wondering what's next

Moon shining brightly
On a poster board of
black
Checks in with the world

A Haiku a day
Taking time to gather thoughts
Keeps the angst away

Life is a kaleidoscope
Each turn, a new twist
Full of brillance
Light shines through
Even in the darkness.

Nighttime is coming
Did I finish my to do's
Tomorrow will come

Today. Someone woke
Up without a parent,
A coworker, a friend.
May you be blest today
As tears sadly , rapidly
Drip drop
Into a pool of memories
May you be bathed
With the wetness
And dried in the pain
May the sound of
A hero's voice
Echo in your heart
And the mornings
And the evenings
Not forgotten
May a light of Hope
Shine down
Deep within your heart
And may you be
Stilled and comforted

I wander for words
Through hallways of
Humanity
Where words are
Easily found
And sadly displaced
A dictionary cannot
Describe
But perhaps feelings

Sometimes I sit, stare
Empty paper before me
Waiting to be used

I tend to think
Of you
Not through Flashy
Clothes
Perfumed air about
You
Polished nails
Painted cheeks
Instead I think
Of you
Through words

Most times I don't  know
The words just pop through my head
I just write them down

Sometimes hidden
Deep within
Other times
Ready to
Explode
Ready to share
Ready to keep
To hold deep
Inside
Or release
To the Universe
Only time can
Tell

Planets spinning round
Dancing around the full
moon
Music in the air

Night draws to a close
The moon kisses me
Goodnight
Peeking through the blinds

Oh warmth of the sun
Casting shadows on the ground
One of them is me

Quiet is so loud
Silencing the world around
Be still and listen

Please don't use my words
For I have nothing to say

Words too broken to
write down
Nothing can be sung

We are a wounded people
Searching for a balm
To cover the indifference
Strength to carry us
Forgiveness to
Heal us

I will cry the tears
Of sadness and loneliness
And you can dry them

Don't compare drama
Mine worse
Than yours
For we are all
Lost souls
Struggling in
Our grief

Skin made of Porcelain
Cracked in a million pieces
Too broken to fix
