visions are what to hold
In every wake of morning cold
Eyes tight,  the sting of told
Whenever, whatever
beholds

Let’s try a poem
No hidden verse
No rhyming
Words showing

Let’s try to write
Deep within
No thinking
Stripped thin

Let’s try to open
From a to c
Begin one word
Silence spoken

Throw back the warmth
of teaching hands
Return once more forgotten land
Inside the strength
clench so tight
Regain to open the palms
to sight

As heat begins to rise once more
Stand back no holding core
Stretch to touch
Clouds across
And breathe
the sound of loss

And now, to leave
to turn about
round of stones
To pick up
No doubt

And now, to show
blank pen
Of ink
To find out
Of when

And now, to now
Open present
breathe outside
To release
Of lesson

Should I dance as ways before
In heaven I know of peace no more
Steps to toe and pitter to stay
I dance the feathers
Inside I sway
