He would dash to doorstep to greet me
Waving hi with the trees
Making me feel happy

He liked to run his fingers through my hair,
Or gave me a little shove
Making me feel loved

As I walked, he spun and danced around,
With the leaves chasing him
Making me shake my head and grin

He was an adventure when he took my hand
And I felt at home when he held me
He made me feel safe and free

So now I want someone who
Loved me like the wind did

New Year's Resolutions
Are like letters to Santa

They were more fun
When I was younger

Now I ask Santa for college supplies
And my NYR is to survive the semester

New Year, but no new you

Just be the same you

Who fails and tries again
'Till your face is blue

Because the year will come that
You see that you’re better than new

You'll be a diamond, no rough
Your worth, finally, in full view
A little bit better is how the world is changed

I know that I did this
That I chose to leave

But while it only took an hour
To pack up all my things

It will take longer to fill in
The places, where you used to be

To remember it's not worth it
Even if now my heart's a little empty

They say, "don't be shallow"

But there, at least you can't be drowned

They say, "I want someone deep not hollow"

But

Deep water is where devils are found
I guess that's the risk, you rish the demons in hopes you find something better that the shallows

You changed the climate

With just a passing compliment,

You were the rain,

That fell on an arid desert plain

Your kindness fell on me

And it no longer hurt to breathe
Words can change worlds

My world didn't end when we did

We both got an "after"

The only difference is yours is happy

And mine isn't over
