To walk hand-in-hand with the illusion of one's self.
A ghostly figure assuming the role of watchful protector
I too never left her side.
Childhood sweethearts some may say if only our paths had crossed then.
An innocent smile etches itself across the scorched outline
and in its warmth, a tortured love has greeted...

My mind remains a skeptic
Yet I can't fail to notice that we walk out of time
A subtle contrast in our gait I grow to miss.
The flickering silhouette changes form,
Now, Oliver, pleading with the dying light
Arms outstretched bowl in the grasp
She begs for more time.
Now in darkness, you fade from me
I am lost...

The needle sinks into the calm waters of my flesh.
The ripples sacrifice themselves to the islands that have made a home there.
A broken heart has once again set sail in its boat without a bottom,
I fear it may never leave this place...
The moon has paid tribute donating its pale light to the sands,
only to reveal the scars amongst the grain.
Each one carved from a painful memory
My markings are simply for this, for in the hope that they will one day build your resting place.

I have read your letter and while I find comfort in the ink, I confess this high grants my only wish to dream of you.
I have come to accept that you were never meant for this life,
now you have grown wings and transcended.
In my note, I write my only regret
That I couldn't give you a reason to stay.

As granted by the heavens, the storm approaches.
The waves more fearsome.
The islands are consumed.
You have taken your own and I too will follow.
Dawn breaks...

The needle fall,
The heart slows,
A familiar shadow has drifted ashore...
My final poem dedicated to one of my closest friends let me know what yous think!

Stop...

And go back, to the moment where time wound forward.
Where fallen leaves return to trees and my broken mind becomes mended.

Go back...

To the days where fear would cower and invincibility possessed the throne of thought
Where youth prevailed.

Rewind...
To the time where the dependence of three legs buckles under the independence of two
Where first words formed replace last words spoken.

Come back...
To the world where leaves have fallen,
Where color has taken its own and has bled into grey.
where youth has betrayed us and old age has greeted.
To the days where the purpose of bone has been replaced by the stability of wood.

The monitor has changed its tempo...
I lay here as breath begins to fade and memories of lost faces gather.
I stop for the last time
To imagine a world where the reality of growing old surrenders to the dream of growing young...
My second poem again let me know what you guys think!

Imagine a world that exists without time...
Where the seconds that pass by are no more recognized than the breaths we take.
A world where time is no longer the healer but in its absence becomes the reliever, and we no longer need live for the moment.
Where our lives are not forever governed by the hands on a clock or the constructs of night and day,
Where memories stay and seize to fade as the fleeting instance that creates them.

I wonder...

If we lived in a world without conflict but then what would we fight for?
Where lives are spared and not lost by wars declared
A world where a name hurts less than sticks and stones and that we will one day become blind by the taking of an eye for an eye.

I wonder...

If we could live a life without regrets, where our lives are no longer built upon the foundations of "what if's" as a life lived in fear is a life half lived.
Where regrets can be considered lesson's as the words "maybe next time" fail to echo the tragedy "it's too late".

But most of all I imagine a world without love...
To forever live with a missing piece and to remain incomplete
Where life is no longer a gift nor loves a prize
yet life is given meaning when its journeyed by two.
To experience the need to deny sleep because reality is better than dreams.
To feel a sense of belonging in its purest form
To feel like God put an angel on earth just for you.

Sometimes I wonder what it's all for
Then I remember
You wonder...
My first poem let me know what you guys think!!!

— The End —
